Overall convenient, easy to find, less than 10 mins walk from Kyoto Station, and less than 3 mins walk from nearby bus stop.
Guest room is neat and tidy, as a messy person like me, I need extra care to keep things tidy.
Guest room is very spacious for 2 person, and we are so surprised, I guess it is even enough for a family of 4. The Decoration is great as well, we loved the Japanese traditional Tatami Design!

Friendly atmosphere of both staff and guests. Takeshi provided helpful assistance in planning my touring of Kyoto sites and assisted me with my transportation and lodging reservations at my next stop. Guesthouse is conveniently located near the train station. It was comfortable and relatively quiet for a dorm room. Takeshi helped me find an English speaking church service for Sunday morning. Availability of a bicycle for local transportation was a welcomed benefit. Would stay there again .
For Backpacker, this is a good place to stay.It's near Kyoto station. In the bus line to Kinkakuji Temple.
For service, peoples are very nice! Takeshi-san and his wife (I think? haha) are very friendly. They can told you a lot of information. Guesthouse is nice and clean. I will stay here again when i go to Kyoto again^^.
It is good place, very close to Kyoto station. Staffs are very friendly. I used to stay at Hotel in Japan last 15 years for my business trip, it is first time to stay at Guest House. Staffs & Guests are so friendly, and share many information. Price is very economical.
The proprietors were super awesome, very friendly, and helpful. On several occasions we all got together made dinner and drank some beers. GOOD TIMES!!! I will definitely be back. Plus it is about a 8-10 min. walk to Kyoto Station, extra props.
The owner of this place is one of the most friendly I met on my travel. The dorm is well sized, everything is clean. There are two common rooms with a huge kitchen. It's close to the train station.
You feel at home right away. The owner is just great and manages to create a very homely feeling right away. Everything is nice and clean and very open. Just great!.

Friendly staff.
The owner speaks good Chinese and is gentle and likes to chat with
guests. The staffs' attitude vary, depending on their mood and
whether you speak Japanese. Room is small but very clean and cozy. A
lot of Japanese students stay here and enjoy chatting and playing
poker together.

Some Guest mentioned that it was noisy & also lights up until late night, But I think guests did that because I also enjoyed chat with another guest until late night. I think it was very sorry to another guest.
A little bit noisy.
Noisy at night since guests laugh and talk loudly at public dinning room, while our double room is just next to the dinning room which makes the guests in double room hard to get asleep.
First of all, I didn't like the attitude of the staff. It was somewhat aggressive, and I was insistently offered to take European-style dorm-bed instead of Japanese-style which looks nicer. The location is not ideal, it's a 10 to 15 minute walk from the train station and there are no metro stations nearby.
As this place attracts a lot of students, it gets noisy, depending on how many and how inconsiderate they are. Street is also noisy, so earplugs are a must.
Double room is on the first floor and facing a busy road.

This is an inexpensive and clean place to stay for backpackers. Location
is 20 minutes walk from Kyoto station. People who require more service
should opt for other hotels.
