What people say
we stay at japanese style twin share room. very comfortable size of room for two persons. our room is located on level 2, where is the shared lounge. the hotel is not big, three twin share rooms (i guess), two dormitories for femal and male separatetly, four toilets, and two shower rooms. So there are not many customers even if fully booked. no need to wait for toilets or shower. the hotel is very clean and stylish decorated. the ground floor is a restaurant run by same owner of hotel. the resta. all reviews »
It was an exceptional experience. The owners were so warm and generous. They looked after me and helped me when I had problems with my flight (bringing me coffee at the computer, letting me use their phone, finding out numbers for me). When eating at their restaurant, I explained I am a pescetarian and they made me a beautiful unagi dish. The house itself is so peaceful and clean. I was so overwhelmed by my experience, if you are looking for a quiet yet communal atmosphere, it is perfect. I wis.
The staff is very friendly and will help you planning your trip if you need, there is also have a small café/restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is very good quality.
Everything is very clean (I stayed in a dormitory), new and design. There is a kitchen where you can take coffee or tea for free, there is also a Wi-fi access for free everywhere in the building. All in all, it was great staying there, I'd book it again without a doubt!.
The staff are very friendly, warm-hearted, patient and helpful. I like the food and design of the cafe they run on the ground floor and the living room on the second floor. My encounters with other customers or guests from Kyoto and other places of the world in the cafe and living room are interesting and memorable. Transportation is quite convenient and it is near to Kyoto University, Ginkaku temple, Philosophers' path and Shimogamo shrine.
The hostel was so clean i could eat from the floor if in want to.
The lady who host me was the nicest and kindest person i met in japan so far and she knew english very well and helped a lot.
The hostel has everything you need and more.
Every single item at the hostel was new and quality:kitchen, shower, bathroom, the dorms, just top notch.
Also there is nice restaurant which make great meals, really tasty and fair prices as well.
Clean little cozy place with 3 floors, 1st is the lobby with reception and dinning room, 2nd is kitchen with lots of books you can read, 3rd is guest rooms. We are two girls stayed in a single Japanese styled room, very nice, 4000yen each person per night. Stuff speaks English, but we spoke Japanese to them and they were very friendly, and showed me how to get to places and sold me a bus day pass for 500yen.
The cleanest guest house I have ever been to
Its extremely nice place to stay if I am ever in kyoto I will be staying here I have been to 4 different guest houses in kyoto this one is by far the best
Its just clean good location brilliant staff its the sort of place you want to find while travelling.
Really nice staff available downstairs during waking hours. They gave us great maps. The guesthouse was immaculately clean, with scents of wood and tatami. Useful facilities like kitchen and washing machine. University district location is convenient for catching buses and trains.
I totaly liked the nice and lovely desinged hotel and the very friendly staff. Especially the common room and the restaurant/cafeshop was perfekt to get some work done, chill and reat. From all the hostels I stayed in Kyoto this week, this was definitely the best and my favorit.
Helpfull english speaking staff. Ultraclean:D Well equipped kitchen. Downstairs there's a nice cafe/bar "Kirin" run by owners where you can have traditional japanese breakfast (or western style) for Y500.
I loved the home-like atmosphere there.
Cute little, new place with extremely friendly and helpful staff in the university area of Kyoto (=good, cheap services). Probably as good as any for exploring the city, although with so many sights, you're bound to have to choose!.
Really everything:
clean / small / helpfull, friendly and english-speaking staff / architecture of the building / very good wifi everywhere / etc. ... perfect place to stay more than 1 night in Kyoto.
It was very clean and had a fairly large common room. The staff was very friendly and helped me decide on what to see while in Kyoto. A definite must for any backpacker in the Kyoto area!.
All rooms are very clean and cozy. Personnels are very friendly and kind, especially they are very helpful and considerate. Highly recommend !.
Very, very friendly and helpful staff.
area is quite populated with eateries
close to a bus stop, and moderately near to a subway.
Personalized service.
Personnel will help you plan your tours in Kyoto.
Food is delicious.
My new home in Kyoto!.
Very clean hostel, Very nice staff, Warm service. Thanks the landlady for helpful suggestions in city touring.
I really love the warm and cozy atmosphere. Location is great. I will definitely stay there again next trip.
Clean guesthouse with friendly staff. Cozy kitchen, comfortable beds in dorm room.
The staff is very friendly and the restaurant at the ground floor amazing!.
pretty much the best guest house/hostel i have stayed in.
It's very clean and tidy.
clean
friendly
comfort.
clean , and nice staff.
Staff are so friendly.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and overall the place has a nice atmosphere. Location is a bit off, but didn't consider that a problem at all - it's close to a train station (fine for Nara) which also has a bike hire place.
location
(japanese) breakfast
been picked-up at port.
there is no lift. the guest rooms located on level 2 or 3. we have to carry lugguage to upstairs, which is a bit efforts.
our twin share room is located on level 2, outside the room is the lounge. some people cook dinner there, so a bit smell.
A bit hard to find at first, and perhaps a bit outside the centre. Count 30 minutes to the station by bus (it's ok and it's direct) but there are things to see around.
From the bus station, go back and take the first street on your right, it will be around 200m on your right. It's that easy, you just have to know it at first.
The location is a bit far from kyoto center, but you have the train st. 5 minutes from the hostel so it was not that bad.
The bed was not the most comfterable bed i sleep in.
Breakfast was 550yen, included rice, miso soup, a fish dish with some pickled veggies, not bad, but had better with that price. Do not allow guest to visit at all, I wanted to show my friend what our room was like, only stayed for less than 5minutes and got kicked out...=(.
Futon beds were a little too firm to be comfortable for us, although the bedding on top was really cozy. Some mechanical noise from nearby buildings during the day and bright lights at night made the room less enjoyable.
A bit far from kyoto center, so one have to take the bus/train.
Location is a bit aside from the city center but at the crossroads nearby you have convenient bus connections. It's better to use bus in Kyoto anyway.
I was thinking about - but there was nothing.
I would have liked to know how to get there from Kyoto station.
If the room has a curtain on the window for upper berth, it would be much better for morning sleep.
Shared hair dryer.
zero dislike.
Private room directly above restaurant smelled every day of fried food. All in all it's a bit too expensive for what it offers.
poor English of hosts
had to pay extra for cup of coffee at breakfast on second day!!
place was more a motel than resort (advertising a bit misleading).
