Location. You can walk there from train station and see morning market, hakodate beer, red brick warehouses, bay view shopping and 7/11 all within that 1 km to hotel. No uphill walking. Nice supermarket on corner. Other tourist sites and trolley right there.
The hostel is very clean, and the host is also very friendly.
I would recommend this stay for sapporo. Many Hakkodate spots are in a walking distance.all reviews »

No air conditioning.
Far too expensive for what it is. As a result the place was empty when we stayed. Called a B&B but you have to buy breakfast. At half the price it would fill up and it is in a great location.
