The location is superb. Quiet square with absolutely beautiful surroundings. Easily walking distance to outlying areas as well as the tourist-centric sites. Breakfast is impressive - not like most Venetian hotels, there is an extensive breakfast with coffee barista! Bathrooms were huge with jaccuzzi tubs. Staff were knowledgable and spoke impeccable English. I would not hesitate staying here again. In Venice, you don't always get what you pay for, but Palazzo Giglio delivers with luxury service.
all reviews » We loved everything about this beautiful hotel. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The rooms were beautifully decorated and we were greeted with a fresh fruit basket on arrival plus a bottle of sparkling Italian wine. The breakfast was nicely presented and the location was just a few minutes walk to St Marks Square and only a couple of minutes from the Vaporetta. The reception staff was efficient and professional. The hotel is centrally located; about 5 minutes walk from the St Marks vaporetto stop and square. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely bathroom. The room even has a fully-equipped mini kitchen! Although it was expensive at Euro 290 (it IS Venice after all), we would stay there again on our next visit. The situation in Venice very near to the vaporetto service is perfect.There is the 'orange line' that takes you from the airport to San Giglio and back by boat. Cost is 16 euro for a single trip, and worth the money. The hotel is nice, there is fruit in the room and you can take a bubble bath. Staff is very helpful. I would recommend it immediately !!!. Excellent location 10 minute walk to ST Marks, and 2 minute walk to the water bus and airport waterbus. Large apartment for Venice and very comfortable. We were there for my husband's birthday and we were offered a bottle of sparkling wine after our arrival. A dish of fresh fruits. There is a bath tub sauna which works great, very clean hotel and it is very close to square st Mark, the vaperatto is nearby. It was a joy to stay in this hotel. The staff was very friendly from the start and all throughout our stay. They helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations. Our room was very big and comfortable for our family. We'd stay here again when returning to Venice and would recommend others to stay here as well. The suite was HUGE with a kitchen and dining area in addition to a living area and dining area...more than enough space for four adults. The roof-top terrace was lovely! Bry nice hotel, good location, first time we needed hotel beside car parking when we come in venice but all hotels very expensive, batter take gondola or cater tax and go in canal, its more good hotels inside and more cheaper also everithing its clear and comfortable. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we received a great and welcoming treatment. We were even received with a nice bottle of bubbly brought directly to our room. One must be very unlucky to find a significant flaw in this hotel. Definitely recommended. We were in Junior suit. It was perfect. Very near was house in construction. But it was not big problem becouse everything else was perfect. If I had to make a comment I would mention that the wifi in our room wasn't the fastest but that might just be the number of ppl using the net over the Carnivale period where the rooms were fairly booked out!. Quite comfortable with windows open but the people traffic noise was disturbing. This is not a complaint about the hotel. Nothing. The taps operation system in the shower is too sophisticated + the rooms in the suite were in different levels and the stairs were not illuminated - the risk to fall down in the dark is rather high. Room was not available (not ready) on arrival, had to leave for lunch and come back. The breakfast is very limited. Don't sleep with the windows open! Venice mosquites are the devil!. AC wasn't strong so the room was warm and there was no shower curtain so it made a mess. Breakfast was not good. Leaving. Having to leave this beautiful place. Room very small. toooo cold and the air-con was not working. A suit with on windows that were usable upgraded the room to a suit for special occasion, very dark opposite building work in an alley, no communal room or terrece to sit and have a drink even though internet showed a roof top garden. The room was tiny. Beyond tiny. The shower was the smallest I've experienced in my life. Breakfast was poor expirience. Staff was slow and NOT service minded. Old hotel in original condition. Old-fashioned, worn, trapped feeling.
