What people say
We recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at Hotel Casa Boccassini for our honeymoon. The hotel is tucked away and we did have to look hard to find it however if you do your research beforehand it will be easy to locate. When you first walk into the hotel there is a beautiful garden courtyard with chairs which is a nice serene place for the weary traveller to take a load off your feet. The rooms are nice, fairly small and nothing fancy with slightly outdated furniture, however the ensuite was new a. all reviews »
Cheap for Venice but still well over 100 euros per night. Cean
comfortable and with lovely garden giving friendly homely feel. In a
quieter part of Venice which is a huge plus after battling through the
crowds around Rialto and St Marks square. Still only a few minutes walk
from centre so why pay more for a slightly more central location?
Receptionist didn't speak English but extremely helpful, friendly
and polite. Breakfast in garden was not the most generous but in a
delightful setting.
The location is great, only a few stops from the train station and a short walk to hotel from waterbus. Idyllic setting as there is a lovely outside garden area to relax in. This is also where breakfast is served. Hotel run by the family, extremely helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom very clean and tidy, and serviced daily. Definitely recommend this place if on a budget and dont want the frills of a fancy hotel.
Casa Bocassini was everything we wanted and more. Staff was helpfull and friendly and the room was clean and neat! Great shower and mattress. Not to mention the location! Loved it!.
The hotel was easy to find and the staff was very nice. The room was small, but nice and very clean. We shared a bath down the hall, but it was very well maintained and clean.
The owner of the hotel is such a sweet old lady. Every where is old antique stuffs. Location is perfectooo
I suggest to stay there.
Not expensive considering Venice. Walking to Rialto only 5 min. Out from crowded areas of V. Silent and clean. Staff friendly.
The neighborhood was very peaceful and quiet at night, the room was beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The manager went out of his way to help us and provide advice and book restaurants which made our stay really enjoyable.
Location is great, area not too crowded and close to water-bus stop. I know some rooms are small, I had the largest one.
Was such a lovely stay, recommend to all!! The staff were so welcoming and kind. Will stay here again.
Very nice staff and host (the beautiful Simba cat). They waited for us to check-in until really late.
Beautiful garden, friendly staff, lovely resident feline. Great stay altogether!.
I like the location, since it is in the middle of the haritage town.
The staff, the facilities, the food, the romantic garden.
Great stay and convenient location to visit Venice.
Close to city center.
The courtyard offers a peaceful mind after spending a whole day in town and also a very nice place for having breakfast. Our room is simple, clean and spacious for two persons.
Location next to the vaporetto station, cheap, clean.
The garden patio was a nice option to relax.
Just be aware that some noise from the alleys can be heard in the rooms, if you are a light sleeper have ear plugs handy.
Didnt discover Boccassini till our third day in Venice when we moved
hotel from central cramped and poorer value for money location to a much
more pleasant accommodation at Boccassini, this is of course absolutely
no criticism of the hotel.
It was very hot when we arrived (We stayed here the 24th of June) and there was no air condition in the room. I guess I missed that when I booked. However, when we came back about 11 p.m., the room was cool enough to sleep.
Also good: Easy to find since you arrive by boat at Fondamenta Nove station ( no bridges/stairs from there).
The "double" bed mattress was two twin mattresses laid side by side. This is a minor complaint though, and it seemed to be commonplace in Italy.
Really hard to find this hotel.. but I suppose it is every hotels problem in Venice since theres no street names..
Nothing.
Transportation is not easy. Communicate with hotel if carrying heavy luggage. Though the room size is also small.
Reception was not open and stand by 24 hours.
The breakfast! It would be nice if the owner could offer supplementary items like hard boiled eggs, croissants for an extra charge.
Shower and toilet of common use, breakfast is poor.
There is no air conditioning as advertised.
Breakfast is not good.
