The service here was excellent. Welcoming drink was nice and turn down service at night was a nice surprise. Staff was very helpful and courteous and made us feel welcome and safe. First restaurant out the hotel door and to your right was excellent. Best 6 cheese pizza ever! Great staff also! We had a great trip! Location was excellent. Right off of San Marco square. The freindliness of staff, their wonderful attention to arranging a private gondola ride for our family at a reasonable rate, the free boat trip to the Island of Murano (which was very worthwhile) but mostly the convenience of location right in the heart of old Venice.

My request for toothbrush instead housekeeper gave me two mineral bottle water and lightbites though is bound to small matters but it will not reflect well on its current reputation... The resturant was absolutely horrible, the chef needs fired. He burnt 3 of the 4 coarse we were served. Not happy for 180 euros.Tiny lift, but you are in venice after all. Great service at arrival, however little service on departure in particular when we decided to take public transport versus an overpriced hotel arranged transfer. Impossible to regulate the heating system; consequently the room was too hot.No view from the room!. The breakfast was ok - same food every day. A little annoying withoffering their restaraunt and different services, like walking tour,gondola ride and etc.Breakfast.Poor choice of the dishes. just add some hot foods like eggs to the breafast. The rooms, although beautifully appointed, are very small. The room we had the first night was so tiny that we couldn't get around the bed or move around. There was nowhere to put the suitcases and not enough closet space. With the window open, the bathroom was completely visable to people on the street below. The second night we moved, and the room was slightly larger. Not enough closet space. More hangers in the wardrobe are a must!. The obstinacy of the reception staff to persuade us to use the hotel very expensive extra services.
