The room was lovely but the ladies at the front desk made the stay the best -- from mailing my postcards to providing hot water for tea at night. We had DSL in the room which was great. Breakfast was very nice too. Just loved staying there. The hotel is very good in general and it's in a good place, where is essay to take the bus and go to see the city.The pool! Good free parking at the hotel.
all reviews » Location, service, room. Friendliness of staff. The friendly staff. Perfectly located!! Down the hill from the city Centro. Bus service, with stop in front of hotel, took less than 4 minutes to reach the Centro. The pool was perfect for our children. Our room was large and very modern/clean. great location - bus stop just outside , and just minutes on a bus to the centre of siena - great base to tour the rest of tuscany, ample free parking and a pool! also breakfast was very good. even though it is approx 15min walk from siena centre, there is a bus stop outside hotel to the centre of siena. the pool area a lovely break from the city heat. facilities, pool and friendly staff. Close proximity to bus stop.The helpful staff, clean room, free internet, nice pool. the staff were helpful and had no problem with my request to stay by the pool until my bus to Rome came. the hotel was very attractive and welcoming.facilities, friendly staff, sun terrace and pool (although too cold and wet to use it that week), good sized room, car park. If staying there, request a room at the back (it is not as noisy and overlooks the pool). It also has free parking. Very nice hotel!. The rooms are large and clean and they have great views. I didn't use the pool (too busy seeing Sienna), but it was nice to know it was there. clean bath room. The room. the hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, the room fair. plus, it had its own (open space) parking.. personnel were very accomodating. breakfast was fair, well within the budget reasonable expectations. It didn't bother us but the hotel is on a busy road. Our room was on the back and we had the a/c on so we didn't hear any street noise. Also it isn't easy to walk along the road but the bus is right there and plenty of people do walk it. Walking into town isn't a long trip, just uphill. If you have physical problems, you might want to think again but they have parking and you can park in Siena. The beds were a bit hard. Retaurant would have been an extra attraction. My family and I would stay here again without hesitation. Already making another reservation for next month.30 min from city center (walking). Foreign hotels almost always have a lack of adequate fire escapes, though La Colonna had a safer layout than most and good access all round. The beds were muc too hard (no springs as such). the room overlooked a busy and noisy road, therefore it was quite noisy even at night. Ac seems to be turned off in the evening.weather - huge storm which confined us to our room - limited view of laundry room. The hotel is on a busy street, but it really didn't bother us that much.Room was very nice but the bathroom appeared old and slightly mouldy compared to the rest of the hotel. Hotel is a fair walk out of Siena township, but there is a bus you can catch right outside the door. They have a decent pool, but what they need to make this a few notchesbetter is two things:1. Jaccuzi. And 2. Massage Therapists.The location - Hotel Colonna is not a long way out of the centre, but is quite a long walk with heavy bags - and google maps let me get lost. There's not a lot directly around the hotel (just a garage and a tabac), but you can get bus 54 from directly outside the hotel and this takes you to the heart of Siena in about 5 minutes - and also saves you having to walk up all of those hills!. room smelt like smoke, it was next to a noisy busy road. Most buses did not run after 20.30 hrs Only an hourly service was available I expected "buffet breakfast " to include bacon ,eggs etc.but it didn't. It is really a commercial hotel, no problem, but should be pointed out. The breakfast. it's a hike from the city centre. there are frequent bus rides, but if you're thinking of walking to the city centre, keep in mind it's quite an uphill.we were give a ground floor room facing to a wall, there was no internet in that room as it was advertised. the decor in the room was below average, also location was not great.
