The location of Dolce Vita is perfect! You are right near the Forum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Spanish Steps! There are many restaurants, cafes and a supermarket nearby. Taxis and buses very close too. The apartment was roomy enough for the 4 of us and although the kitchen facilities were fairly basic it was fine for our 5 day stay. Air con was great and we had cable tv for the international news. The hotel did a load of washing for me for only 5euro which was great!.
all reviews » Perfect for a family with young children. Plenty of room for all of us to spread out. Kitchen was perfect for breakfast in our apartment. The apartment was very modern and updated but still charming. Staff was the highlight - super recommendations for tours and restaurants; very helpful - told us exactly the fare to pay for the taxi; extremely accommodating when we arrived at midnight after a late flight - we will definitely return!. The hotel staff were all fantastic and very helpful. We had a warm welcome, even late at night. A map of the city was very useful. Excellent central location, close to shops, good restaurants and main attractions. Not that hard to find if your print out a map and google the address to have a look at the place. No need to have breakfast at the hotel, as there are many places around to have a cup of coffee and a croissant. Its more like a boutique style accommodation located in a small laneway off one of the major streets of the city. We loved the convenience of an apartment located within easy walk to all the main Roman attractions. The staff were very helpful and spoke English well. We had an amazing few days in Rome and were very comfortable and DVR seemed relative good value. The decoration,the home like feeling. The staffs ( anna u r an all rounder) and all the co owners especially who personally take care of every guest. So close to all the locations. I had one of the best morning jogs ever in my life. From hotel pass the magnifice capitol museum, all the way to colleseum and back to trevi fountain and hotel. Epic !!. The location of the hotel was excellent. We basically walked everywhere from the hotel even with three young kids . The bus to Vatican City was just outside the hotel so it was extremely convenient. The hotel staff were extremely proactive and had emailed us weeks ahead to ask if we needed anything and to confirm our arrival time. The apartment was well-designed and clean, in a great location: only minutes' walk from the forum, colosseum, pantheon etc yet in a quiet side street away from the traffic (double-glazed too). Didn't hear much noise from the guests in the neighbouring apartments. The front desk staff were really friendly, informed and helpful. We had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich and tuna and salad sandwich, plus pastry. I would have preferred a voucher (to a certain value) to the cafe below. Nothing!. A little confusion about the city tax and what was actually owed. Researched to find it should be $2 EU per day per person. Noise from the busy road at the end of the alley was very loud all night long. Neighbouring buildings under major redevelopment so building work noise during the daytime. Let down on the final day by reception desk staff being 45 minutes late for work resulting in checkout delay and stress to get to airport in time. Small showers. The stairs would have been a challenge to anyone with a physical disability. A bit noisy because it's right beside venezzia piazza and lots of pubbs and restaurants nearby. The internet connection (in the room) was bad.. Rooms were dark due to little natural light. Bedding could have been a bit more plush. Pillows a bit flat. Very happy and no grumbles. Nothing. Bed was abit hard(for me) Maybe a microwave or cooker in the appartment. More tv channels. Minimal breakfast, little natural light, hard mattress (single bed). decor. No complaints. Somewhat noisy, particularly overnight from street noise. Wifi availability was good but not 100%. The bed was that hard we had to call in extra pillows and laid them on top of the bed.. made for difficult sleep.. bummer. Everything but the location. Room had been very noisy. Every morning I woke up with the sound of the garbage truck collecting trash. Then the noise from the nearby construction started. It shouldn't be that difficult to soundproof the windows. The hotel staff was rude except the one lady who did our check-in. At one point one was making fun of me while I was asking something. Definitely not worth the money. I wouldn't recommend.
