A rare gem in the sicilian country side, situated in a valley on the north side of mount Etna with spectacular 360 degrees view. Very interesting to visit and stay in an immaculately restaured 19th century villa with a museum -like winery, among vinyards and olive trees.Very polite and helpful staff, excellent and very reasonably priced restaurant and varied wine list, which includes the etiquettes produced on the premises. all reviews » This is a unique property - an old manor house, fully restored, a producing vineyard and an excellent estate wine that is well worth the modest price. The property is nothing less than dramatic - indeed it looks like a movie set, and could have been, for that matter since, as one of the owners told me, during WWII it was commandeered as a German military hospital, and subsequently taken over by the Allies for the same purpose. The owners and staff are as friendly and warm and welcoming as any. A beautiful old house in the heart of the countryside. A good base for seeing mount Etna, Gola di Alcantara and an hours drive from Taormina. The owner showed us around their old wine making facility and cellar. We loved walking through the vineyard and seeing all the different fruits growing there. My children loved playing with the two puppies. Staff spoke good english and were very helpful. Food was v nice though some dishes did not have much meat due to the bone/ fat content.....am of sure . A genuine rural heritage building and winery has added a stylish and professional small hotel. We arrived in mid- afternoon without having had lunch and the staff put together a simple but delicious lunch for us, although the restaurant was not really open. In the evening the restaurant served sophisticated versions of local dishes, with excellent wine from their own winery available. The view of Mount Etna from the terrace is impressive. This hotel is beautifully sited amidst vineyards in a mountain valley near the north side of Etna park. The very helpful owner arranged a first rate guide for us' and Natale (our guide) took us not only on a hike to craters but also, the next day,marooned Nebrodi park. The hotel dinners were very good, as was their own label wine. The location of Feudo Vagliasindi is superb with wonderful views of Mount Etna. The food and the estate wine were absolutely delicious. The staff were so welcoming and could not have done more for us. Our suite was very spacious, ideal for a family and very clean. We wish we could have stayed longer and will be sure to return. The location is perfect for those who are planning trip to Etna from the North and visiting Nebrodi. In the period we stayed in the hotel we were almost alone there but staff was very friendly and food was delicious ( even from limited MENU). We actually visited this place alrady one year ago so it was our second stay. Of the many places we stayed during our recent trip to Sicily, Feudo Vagliasindi was the most charming. Setting on northern side of Mt. Etna could not have been more picturesque. Rooms ample, food memorable, wine ****, staff and owner engaging and helpful. Wine loving travelers to Sicily should not miss Feudo Vagliasindi. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The area is beautiful with good views and good access to Etna. Owner had us visited his old wine cellar. Very helpful and correct. Everything. The location was perfect , at the foot of Etna. The evening meal was superb and a bargain. It's a very nice building situated in a perfect location with scenic views. Pretty much everything. Excellent weekend to relax by the countryside. View of the Etna, wonderful architecture, nice wines, interesting surroundings, typical Sicilian town of Randazzo. The nature of the building does not allow for an elevator and therefore it might be a bit tricky for people with walking problems and for families with young children to climb up the stairs. Air conditioning was poor. The bathroom had a bath with a shower extension but no curtain/ enclosure so you could not have a shower only a bath. An indoor communal sitting area would be nice. The location is very rural and a bit hard to find. I would have liked some meat and cheese with breakfast, as well as the delicious cakes and ceoissants. Small thing : glasses in the room would be great - anyhow it was not a problém to ask for them. The directions on the google map very poor, address of Feudo not recognised by Tom-Tom gps. Only a small communal area inside; lovely terrace but in cooler weather a few seats in bar area would have encouraged us to linger. Somewhat distant from the nearest town, Randazzo. Somehow you can feel that staff is still learning to manage this beautiful place like a luxury hotel, but they are learning fast. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Service was approximate, atmosphere rather grim, restaurant empty, food average, pool deserted, bar charges for every little extra, even aperitivi snacks that always come for free in Italy.
