Great hotel. Room we stayed in was huge, spotless and very clean. The bathroom was huge and spotless. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with an excellent variety of fuits and other staples. The staff were helpful and very friendly. If you decide to stay here, there is a reastaurant around the corner with a waiter named Nikko, he'll take care of you. Just tell him Chris from Chicago sent you. There's a Mojito Bar right across the street where many people gather, with some great cuban music.
all reviews » Rooms were well appointed and everything worked. Good firm superking sized bed in a standard room. A lot of the original stone had been built into the deisgn and was well done.Very quite. We had a back room 415 and with the shutters closed it was silent. In summer if you wanted to open the shutters there is an aircon machine nearby which is noisy. Located in the city center, near the museums, shops, cafes etc. The staff was VERY helpfull, always ready to help out and really friendly. The breakfast was various and tasty. Rooms and halls comfortabe and quiet. I wasn't disturbed by the street noise. I would be happy to visit once again!. I took a junior suit and it was amazing with fair value of money compared to the room size The breakfast was fair and there was everything I needed (except the coffee) The location is right on the spot and you may walk to reach main points in the centre of Palermo. The room was spacious and modern of a high standard .We also had a Juliet overlooking the street which we appreciated.The Breakfast was excellent and included a range of Sicilian specialties.The Hotel was also located near some excellent traditional Restaurants. Despite windows to the street with bars open (loud live music) I slept very well! Both the bed and the pillows were truly great, not too soft which is a problem in most hotels. I wouldn't recommend driving as there is absolutely no place to park. Take the hop on - hop of bus, works out great. Bus service is also very good. We were there in January so probably most of the year it would be fine. Breakfast got very samey aftre 5 days no variation at all. Everything was great!. The coffee was strange and I recommend that you take your coffee outside in case the hotel management doesn't change the coffee/machine The hotel insulation (windows and walls) was not fully insulating the noise of the bars street nearby; although this wasn't a problem for me as I was out most of the night but it's worth to mention for anyone who wish to sleep early. You may request in your book to have a room away from the side of the street. Nothing that I can think of. WiFi available for just 1 hour/24h. Noisy location. Ask for an internal room. 1. Rooms a bit dark, and the various lights are better at creating a moody effect than at letting you read comfortably. 2. The breakfast area was chilly (this was Feb) 3. Charging for use of internet in the rooms (free wifi only in public areas). This was made clear in advance, but I still think it is a liberty- and it is mainly the more expensive or prestigious places that do it. All the other places we stayed had free wifi in the rooms. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Not able to get tea/coffee until bar opened at 6pm. Nothing to dislike. Original room overlooked restuarant with live band - very noisy. We did not like Palermo the city was dirty. Very noisy room - band playing until 2am every night WiFi was free for only 1 hour in every 24 hours - but you didn't even get an hour Very expensive parking Not overly helpful staff on check-in. Breakfast - most days the 'hot' food (bacon, scramblwed eggs etc0 were at best luke warm sometimes stone cold, Ran out of marmalade (orange jam) twice, some days the clod charcuterie almost disappered. The shower. *Advertised as free wifi but it only works in lobby and it is only free for 1 HOUR each day. *The staff here were the most rude and unhelpful that I experienced in a month of travel in Italy. These were multiple staff on different days. Clearly customer service is not a priority here. Slight problems with Wi-Fi in the rooms, a bit noisy in the morning, we were not able to fully close the door facing the street. the sound of the kitchen cleaning / plates in the breakfast area. Hum from machines out on the roof next to room 411. The coffee was not good. I didn't like the noise on the street, just outside the room until 2am. Internet IS NOT free! One hour daily is free, but for other you must pay. Palermo. Apparently huge choice of food at breakfast, but it would be better to have less variety and more quality/freshness. Wireless is free for 1hr a day only. Being charged for wireless~the only hotel on my 5 week faction to do so! It is offensive notably when noting the daily tariff. Location a little scary for woman travelling alone - did wonder if my car would be their the next morning as had to park around 500 metres away!. the staff was rather cold upon our arrival. The hotel is located on the edge of Kalsa,a very noisy neighborhood and live music played very late into the night (morning). Be warned... "a room overlooking the city" just means that your room will look onto a busy a very noisy street. In the middle of a grotty area. Palermo generally dissapointing. staff off hand. the shower. Very very noisy.
