We were in one of the apartments. The location is amazing. From the lounge/dining area you look out over the Piazza and can enjoy the buzz. There are some pretty good restaurants around, one of which at least does take away (none of them has a view like the apartment). Also you are so close to shops selling home made pasta etc. Cooking in is actually a pleasure with this view. The location makes the place. The fittings are basic rather than luxury, but perfectly OK and very clean. Erica an.
all reviews » The location. It is simply stunning. The piazza is a really buzzy place. There are good restaurants all around the area; great home made pasta to bring back. Eating in is a delight, as the apartment has a better view than any restaurant. The facilities are fine. It's very clean, there are oodles of towels and the hot water is hot. What more do you want? 5 star hotel it isn't, but value for money it is exceptional. The couple who run it are delightful, and we are now working on a plan to. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted. We loved the decor of our rooms, as well as of the common breakfast room. My room had everything I needed, plus a great shower! The breakfast was excellent--an array of brioche, coffees, juice, fruit, even a cheesecake. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the location is right by the Anfiteatro and close to the major shopping street.Superb restaurants nearby too. What more could I want?!. Very friendly and helpful staff. They made sure we could drop off our baggage before we parked outside the city walls and they also let us keep our baggage in the office after we checked out and helped us carry it to the car. Breakfast was wonderful. Room was spacious and the bathroom/shower was huge and newly renovated. Easy to walk to walk anywhere in the city. What isnt there to like in this quaint little medieval town? The food, the shopping, the architecture, the wall surrounding the town, it was very quaint. The staff at the B&B were friendly and even served the breakfast for us. The rooms were modern,newly renovated and spacious. Beautifully decored. So affordable!!. Loved the Location, We stayed in an apartment overlooking the beautiful main Piazza. Clean, comfortable apartment with a view to die for, a great base to sit and soak up the atmosphere. We rented an apartment and it was very nice with wood beams and a large living room dining room area. the location. Location. There is one big downside if you have problems with steps. There are lots and they are steep. Our son stayed in a second apartment with two young kids and it wasn't a problem, but if you have mobility issues, forget it!. The stairs up are a bit of a challenge and you won't do it if mobility is a big issue. However, our son and his family had a similar apartment and his two young kids had no issue, and it has to be said that neither of us are in the first flush of youth. There was really nothing that I didn't like about this place. Difficult to find/navigate to, but this is more to do with the layout of Lucca than the location of the B&B. Our bed was a little uncomfortable because it was very firm. Loved it. The fact that we only stayed one night in Lucca!!! No wi fi in apartment and TV hard to figure out but these are not in any way major obstacles and everything else made up for it. Getting luggage to the B&B was painstaking! Recommended parking was inconvenient and distant, and there was no staff help in accomplishing this feat. Occasional less-than-hot showers were had, but not totally cold. While the window/shutter combination worked well, there were no screens. So when the windows were open to let in the fresh air, a bug or two came in as well. Check-in a bit tricky (there's no permanent reception), but we were early and managed to leave our cases thanks to staff in the associated restaurant. Staff friendly. A small niggle, but strangely for Italy, the morning coffee seemed to be only instant. The only downside is you have to carry your luggage for quite a long way. But otherwise the location is awesome for sightseeing and enjoying the town. bit noisy til late take earplugs but didnt bother us too much. Not Applicable. Was noisy on one night,-the side facing bedrooms overlook a bar, perhaps ask for a bedroom in the back? No control over the heating,-went on and off erratically, operated remotely. Air conditioner was in the living room. Bedroom was hot for sleeping. Nothing - our stay was exactly as planned. the very steep stairs. Italy is full of stairs. Cannot park nearby. But you could drive your car to the hotel to drop off and pick up bags. Don't know if the staff understand how letsbookhotel.com work so.was a bit of confusion when leaving. Great stay though. Entrance needs renovation and the noise coming from the breakfast room is annoying. Breakfast really poor for money. Very noisy. Uncomfortable bed. Wifi availability limited to breakfast room. Unfortunately, they did not have us booked in but they apologised and found us a room straightaway. Noisy at times from premises below. Nothing. Niente. The lack of information on how to access the B&B: there should be maps and instruction on the website and through the booking agency that clearly indicates which gate to enter the old city of Lucca, the parking garage to use and how to get to it. Once in the old city, getting around on foot is equally challenging. The owner of the B&B made it clear and simple once we asked three strangers and spent nearly an hour finding the place. A little bit noise room and if you will need to park your car make sure to ask before how to get to the hotel to leave the luggage, considering the parking is about 10 min walking from there. Access difficult via staircase. 1) Stairs. We love old building and no elevator is fine. However we admit that (at our age) climbing stairs with luggage was tiring even with a 24". Our solution was to pack small overnight bag and left big luggage in our car. 2) there's no wi-fi in house #56. No Wifi in apartment!!!!!!!!!!. Only in main building breakfast room. breakfast(. Not enough light in the apartment. Need more lamps in it because it is a dark apartment. the staff were less than accomodating. We stayed two nights and they did not come to tidy the room after the first night. When I pointed out this fact to them, instead of apologizing and getting on with things they went on the defensive which was really unnecessary and really quite offensive. I will not be returning there despite the fact that I go to Lucca at least 3-4 times a year. No onsite manager and the key to the door into the b & b did not work poor lighting paper thin walls.
