R.P.S. was an amazing hotel. We were treated well (free room upgrade), the room was beautiful, modern and warm which was perfect since we were there in the winter and it was *cold*. Beautiful location right in the heart of Piazza Veccio which has several attractive sights including one of the David statue replicas and The Rape also the Pitti Palace. Good food and restaurants nearby. Loved everything - location especially, definitely the best we had in Europe. Close to everything and I also really liked the code needed to enter the building, made me feel safe and secure. With relation to the staff, Rosa in particular went out of her way for us several times.

Not at all - full cooking facilities, great pay TV, clean spacious bathrooms - it was all good.These are not dislikes but suggestions. I would have appreciated a comfortable chair in the room. Better instructions on how to get in the front door and find the offce when checking in. But after checkin, all is easy. The only negative, and it is minor, is that the heaters were rathernoisy -- staying there off season meant that we needed heat, but theywould turn and off during the night with some loud clicking and such.Still, it's a minor point.No meal, but that's ok. You could have a more recognizable sign outside the hotel. We spent quite a time to find it:-). No - everything was perfect! The staff, the room, the location - everything was great. The lack of breakfast is not a problem: you get coffee and tea in theroom and there are loads of places around the hotel where you can haveyour breakfast. That the hotel is very central comes with 2 disadvantages: 1) it can be noisy at night since Piazza Signoria in front of the hotel is a rather busy place and 2) you pay for the location. It was hard to figure out how to get into the building, with just key pads on the outside. It was also hard to find the reception area (on the top floor).Staff was very friendly but opening hours of reception area could have been more convenient. We could hear people coming and going in the hall and closing doors, however we did not have a problem sleeping as it was mostly early evening and mornings....The cooker made the lights in the room fuse when we used it. Some of the apts next door are not renovated.Cooking facilities were rather basic and there was no hairdryer. The absence of a lobby means it is difficult to get help and avice. The office on the fitfh floor is remote - and it is closed at different times of the day without any schedule.What is sold as "executive room" has no armchair, no bath and no desk! Also the Piazza is extremely noisy at night. This "relais" is far too expensive. I paid 110 Euro per night. At 70 Euro it would have been good value.Apartment has no window! No daily light at price of 340 euros for two nights. What else to say!?.

Relais piazza Signoria is situated in Via Vacchereccia n. 3, starting after piazza della Signoria towards Por santa Maria, opposite Bar Rivoire. From there you will enjoy the view on palazzo Vecchio in a unique way, as you will have the impression to touch it; Galleria degli Uffizi is only 50 meters away and the Dome, 200 meters away, is visible from the hotel windows. From Santa Maria Novella railway station, Relais piazza della Signoria is reachable in 10 minutes on foot.
From the motorway either from the South or the North, we suggest you take exit "Firenze Certosa”: once you exit continue towards Centro until Porta Romana and from here take Via Romana up to Piazza Pitti and then Via Maggio up to Ponte Santa Trinità. After you cross the bridge take Via Tornabuoni and travel 100 m, when you reach Piazza Santa Trinità, turn right on Via delle Terme until you come to Via Por Santa Maria. Here you must turn left and soon after make a right on Via Vacchereccia dove, across from the famous Bar Rivoire, where you will find Relais Piazza Signoria.
