This hotel was really nice and quiet. The walk to downtown attractions wasn't too bad and the railway station was close by. We received a room upgrade when we arrived, which was a very nice surprise. Breakfast included free sparkling wine, which was a nice touch. I would recommend this hotel, especially for honeymooners!. Room was comfortable and bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and well appointed. The airport had lost my luggage, and the hotel was very accomodating.

Decor around the hotel. The room we had was a junior suite which had a jacuzzi bath which was great after plodding the streets for 10 hours a day. The rooms all ascend to the bedroom so its like a small house which is nice. The hotel was about 15 minutes from the main sights however a cab is about 8 euros and its a welcome break to get out of the hustle and bustle for a few hours to unwind. The hotel is romantic too. Drinks at the hotel bar were pretty pricey.Odor(sewer or gas) was pretty bad in areas of the hotel (not the rooms) and construction (jackhammers) and pounding began at 8:00 a.m. It was expensive ... but worth it.found the menu looked and sounded good, however we found the prices high and therefor did not take the pleasure of eating at the hotel other than breakfast, found re-stocking of the english breakfast was very poor, watched people giving up on the wait. Perhaps a bit too formal. It was a little further from the centre city than anticipated. It was a shame there wasn't 24hr room service, as an early cup of tea before our departure would have been ideal. Only a suggestion, not necessarily a critism.Price of the bar. Not in centre of florence. The air conditioning did not work in our room! I told the staff and theymoved us to another room that was even worse. It had cool air that wasbarely blowing. It remained about 82 degrees in the room all night long.It was miserable. I told the person who checked us out and he said hedidn't receive any other complaints and said everything was workingcorrectly with a/C. Wouldn't stay here again. Poor standard of service in the restaurant despite not being busy, such as not removing dirty plates speedily or topping up wine.

Travelling information

By Car:
From Bologna (North):
- Exit Firenze Nord and go in the direction of Centro Città
- When the motorway finishes, follow in the direction of Centro Città - Lungarni - Porta a Prato.
- Once you get onto Via Belfiore, it turns into Porta Prato where you turn left at the first traffic lights. Take the first right into Via Il Prato
- Go on for about 200 metres until the second street on your left and turn into Via Garibaldi. After a few metres, you will find the hotel on your left.

From Rome (South):
- Exit Firenze Certosa.
- Follow in the direction of Centro Città - Lungarni- Stazione F.S.
- Go across the bridge of Vittoria continuing straight on until Porta a Prato.
- Next to the tower of Porta a Prato and turn left into Via Il Prato.
- Go on for about 200 meters and continue as above.
