For my wife and I, it all has to do with the staff and this hotel can boast of having very helpful and friendly staff. The owners are present and they participate in the day to day activities of running this very charming hotel. The rooms are somewhat unique as the rooms are all so different. The location is a ten. We will certainly return to this hotel if and when we are back in that area. The breakfast server was ever so nice and pleasant.
all reviews » This is a lovely hotel in the historic centre of Florence. It is only a five minute trundle - with suitcase - from the main railway station. The staff were very polite and helpful. There was plenty of choice when it came to breakfast time. I had a nice, clean room overlooking the bustling piazza and the Medici chapels. The (double) double-glazed windows shut out any traffic noise overnight. I would definitely recommend it. This is a hotel which is wonderfully located in the heart of old Florence, with character and is exceptionally clean and well-run. The breakfast is generous and served in a delightful room. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and always courteous. A great hotel which I have recommended to others!. Location to train station, city sites, shopping and good restaurants. Staff was helpful answering city and transportation questions. Nice outside courtyard for end of day relaxing. location - walking distance to train/bus station and to City attractions. Soon after placing the booking, We were debited Euro 165 as a pre-authorisation fee ? When queried, we were informed that this was to cover any cancellation. 5 months later a further Euro 165 was debited through my card. Reason given ! The first pre-authorisation fee had "expired" ?. nothing. shower is european style--not my favorite. The breakfast room closes at 10am. I arrived at 10.00.30. I really mean less than one minute late.. And it was closed. Great location, and lovely breakfast room and garden, there is a bar, but not open very late. Overall we didn't really like the room; from the minute we set eyes on it. It was small, dark and rather tired with mould on bath and brown water marks in the toilet vase. The air con was not working, just making working noise!. Breakfast lacks variety. quite grubby, rooms jaded and tired, lift was a bit dodgy!. Staff; not being able to store luggage before check in; poor air conditioning - too hot to sleep at night.
