The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a peaceful oasis. The extras (free phone call to UK and happy hour) were unprecedented, unexpected and very much appreciated. One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in - we'd like to live there!. THE STAFF. the staff gives you the filling he realy wants you to enjoy your stay, inform you all the free things you can get (like 10 min. call to you country fo free), warn you from getting a ticket in the city, etc. Although the hotel is 25/30 min of walking distance from the turistic area it is compensated by the friendly staff and accomodations. Yes, it was very far from the center of everything. Took us an hour to get there from the train station. And walking to and from the center of Florence was too long and we are young and agile!. you can hear your neighbours, shower our flushing toilet. Note there are less spacious room in addition to the spacious room -if you're not lucky-.

By car
From the North or South, take the Florence Certosa exit and then follow the directions fro the Center and for Viale Michelangelo. Having driven for circa 2 kilometers, you will see a yellow sign with directions to Piazzale Michelangelo. When you arrive to Piazzale Michelangelo, you will see a splendid terrace from which you can enjoy views of the city. Continue along the road with trees until you arrive to Piazza Ferrucci. Hotel David is on your right, at number 1 on Via Michelangelo.
By train
From Santa Maria Novella station, you can take a taxi (about 10 minutes) or bus 23, 13 or D for Piazza Ferrucci. The bus stop is found at the side entrance to the station, at the end of the steps.
By plane
From Florence "Galileo Galilei" airport, you can take a taxi (about 30 minutes) or the shuttle bus which leaves every 30 minutes and brings you directly in front of Santa Maria Novella Station. From here, take bus 23, 13 or D for Piazza Ferrucci. The bus stop is found at the side entrance to the station , at the end of the steps.
