Visiting the city of Rome. We stayed at the hotel only to sleep. Is placed in a good situation: the town of Ciampino, only 10 minutes to the airport by bus (ticket= 1,20 euro) and good communicated with Rome by train (the train station is very near, only 5 minutes walking, tickets to Rome= 1,30 euro). Convenient for both airport and station. Friendly staff, very adequatehotel for the purpose.all reviews »
reasonable price..... Hotels in Rome downtown are all very expensive and this is quite a good deal as it is located not in Rome but in Chiampino. However we would have stayed in this hotel if we knew the connection from the hotel to Rome downtown is actually quite good. (we changed to Rome downtown from next day but we had to pay much more and the service was crap.). excellent personal attention. Proximity to Ciampino airport and 4 mins from main line railway station to Rome. 24 hour reception. Family run. Staff very friendly and helpful.Best cafe I found in Rome was Sicilian cafe on corner by Ciampino station!. We stopped at this hotel because we were flying from Ciampino airport the next morning and so the location of the hotel only 5 minutes walk from the railway station was ideal. The room was clean and suited our needs.Friendliness / Helpfulness of staff. Proximity to Station (250m - then Rome Terminus is 2 stops / 15 mins) and Airport (only 5km but expect tp pay €20-30 for a taxi). Proximity to local bars / restaurants. facilities and price. The room was a nice size with plenty wardrobe space and cupboards and was clean and comfortable. it was a 5 minute walk to Ciampino railway station. The hotel is ideally situated for the airport and trains to Rome. A shuttle bus service from from the Railway Station to the Airport. Cleanliness and closeness to Airport and Train station. near the train station. Good hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is good and friendly. The only handicap is, as is a very small hotel, they don't have snack bar / restaurant where take breakfast or lunch.The connection to the airport. It is near but you can't walk as it is blocked so you actually should make a very big detour. We had to take a taxi as it was near midnight and the bus connection was finished. The driver asked 30 euro for a 5 min ride. You will pay the same price to move to Rome downtown. The taxi fare is pretty much fixed in the airport area. No breakfast, although not a show stopper as Cafe opposite. I stayed 1 night because i was arriving on a late flight before taking train to Rome proper. Actually the service is regular, takes 15 mins, and costs Euro 1.35, so in future would prob go direct. Be careful on return as airport bus from Ciampinio station goes only every 30 mins, but costs only 1.50 Euro and takes 10 mins, so dont taxi.A bit of traffic noise and dog barking across the road kept us awake but not too bad. 2 minor points - 1) Smokers in reception area = smell of smoke in rooms. 2) Too small to provide breakfast (but good coffee bar only 100m away).It would be nice if hotel staff can communicate better in English. cost 30 euro in taxis from airport. No breakfast, too expensive.
