However, the staff will help you with taking the luggage up and down the stairs. The hotel is situated in a little seedy area near the fish market. However, once you walk pass these 1-2 blocks, you are at the Elephant fountain and the Duomo so the location to the sights is great. There are lots of good seafood restaurants nearby.

  Angela was super! She told us so many things, what to see, where toeat, we wouldn't ended up eating in a cave like restaurant if itwasn't for her! - It was central, clean and the staff were very helpful. There was free internet access and also the use of a washing machine.

  We really liked our stay in B&B Macalle. Everything was very clean, the towels smelled really nice and our room and bathroom were very spacious. Every morning Mario made us a great cappuchino. The city is at walking distance. And Mario gave us a great suggestion for a fish restaurant for dinner. Their b&b is in a lovey old building and is fresh, spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the delicious chocolate or lemon cake at breakfast. Plenty of parking and a view of part of the volcano top Etna and not far from the city Catania. Approximately 500 m to the beach but only rocks and no sand beach.

  First impressions don't always count! Yes, the building that this B&B is housed in is a bit run down looking from the outside, but aren't most in Sicily's old towns? The B&B has been beautifully refurbished to the highest of standards. If you get to the Castle (Castello) you are basically there, don't go around in circles like we did - This is a great place to stay. Located in a down at heel piazza close to the fish market and adjacent to the railway line, first impressions aren't encouraging. Inside, however, the accommodation is truly excellent. Recently refurbished throughout, the style is contemporary but homely. Exceptionally comfortable and clean with efficient air conditioning, large bathrooms/showers, good storage space and excellent breakfast. The owners (who speak only limited English) couldn't have been more helpfu
