We arrived late, but that didn't stop Paolo from making us cocktails by the pool to welcome us and answer all of our questions about the regional food and wine, and Carlo told us about winemaking as well.   Hands down the best place we stayed at during our stay in Italy: an old farmhouse full of character, tastfully converted into comfortable hotel rooms using classy materials. A very quiet and beautiful area, yet close to both Modena and Bologna. Very hospitable young lady as a host.
