Staff were friendly & engaging; made confersation and were egar to help in any way that they could. Food was lovely. Had a modern but very relaxing country feel to it. We had booked in for two nights for Gaelforce west, but my partner proposed to me after the race, and the manager of the hotel was so understanding that we wanted to go home to be with family for the saturday night that she did not charge us- which I thought was so nice. We will defo be back for our anniversary!!.
all reviews » The staff was amazing. They went above and beyond. The facilities were clean and very comfortable. The fact that they could accommodate my whole family in one room was a major plus. They typed out directions for us every day no matter where we were going. We have already recommended the lodge to friends. Like the setting of the lodge not to far from Westport town. Ideal if you wanted a quiet night away, short taxi trip was cost 7 euro to town of westport, staff were very helpful, great value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone with children plenty of space for them to run around and safely. Room was spacious and nice. Food was excellent. Staff were lovely and very friendly especially Daniel who was so helpful. Would definetly stay here again. It's about 5 minutes from Westport town but the location is beautiful and private. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed was enormous! Lovely shower and breakfast was spot on. Was only a few minutes drive from Westport but had a very country feel to it. The staff were lovely, the food was fantastic, the scenery was relaxing. Our room was nice and spacious. the hotel had lovely décor and good facilities which included a spa. Excellent staff with an excellent view. I loved seeing the sheep grazing out of window. Took us a while to find it as the map on their website is wrong. No complaints about this hotel - would definitely stay there again and recommend to anybody looking for a break in Westport. Unfortunately the night we stayed there were some people who made a lot of noise at 2.30 in the morning talking very loudly and opening and closing doors for over 30 mins. We should have alerted the night porter on hindsight. Couldn't fault a thing!. A little difficult to find. Food choice was limited. No small dinners available (e.g. sandwiches / bar food). Public areas very dark (decor and furniture) Messy pond Curtain hanging off rail (which my husband repaired) Dirty underside of toilet Breakfast could be improved with fresh fruit salad offered and maybe more of selection of preserves (including honey). the carpet needed a bit of attention. As a former golf resort, facilities are overdesigned for the number of guests today. Not bad, but it gives a feel of emptiness. Did not see any overnight staff. If true, guests should be informed. Nothing. needs more lighting out front !. Not a lot to complain about, couldn't get radiator in the bedroom to turn on, wasn't too cold during our visit so wasn't too much of a problem. we didnt like the set up for breakfast, the small cups and the tea flask which made u walk with hot tea across the room m be 3 times and there was no friit out or all bran for people lookin for fibre ,. going home!. Staff could have been more friendly!. Deflated bouncy castle spoiling outlook from best rooms. seem to be a permanent fixture as was there at last two stays. No pool. Breakfast was poor with dispensers for tea and coffee and poor lay out also no glasses for juice on one of the mornings.Room wasn't cleaned on first day as we didn't let the lady in at 8.15 am to clean and she didn't return. poor food,inedible dinner.poor breakfast,pre made tea in flasks ,instant coffee,no fruit ,no rolls,no croissants, no porrige.dreadful toaster,do it yourself with people queueing behind you. It's 4 km out of Westport but that's part of the charm. Hard to find at night. Sign should be lit up. I felt the breakfast variety could be better fruit an yoghurt made available in portion and variety. The hotel was very outdated.. Wasn't very clean.. Dust & cobwebs everywhere.. Breakfast was a complete let down as every piece of bread was blue moulded.. I didn't like the early breakfast finish time and early check out. The bedroom .especially the base of d bed was covered in dust. Had be clean in ages. Badly stained carpet , too far from the village. Hotel was lacking atmosphere. Great value for value.
