Rivermount House is a boutique-style guest house overlooking the Bandon River outside Kinsale town. In peaceful surroundings, spacious bedrooms have countryside views, bathtubs and satellite TVs. With just 6 bedrooms, all with king-sized beds, there is a relaxed ambiance at Rivermount. Rooms are individually decorated and all offer work desks and seating areas, hair dryers and free Wi-Fi. There are three lounge areas for guests to relax in, and the raised patio area offers wonderful views of the river. A traditional Irish breakfast, using local produce, is served over-looking the water. Continental and vegetarian options are also available, whilst home-made bread is baked daily. There are three golf courses within easy reach of Rivermount, and the beach is just 2 miles away. Kinsale town, with its harbour, shops and gourmet restaurants, is just a 5-minute drive.

EVERYHING! One of the best B&Bs we've ever stayed in, in the whole world. The design, the scenery, the attention for details (extra glasses and wine fridge for you to use!, american 110v outlets! leather bound breakfast menus!). Modernly and tastefully renovated, feels brand new!). Beautiful view, comfortable bed, great breakfast, huge room with lot of space. Perfect, perfect, perfect.
all reviews » We were placed in a huge family room with a separate room for our two teenage girls-perfect! There was lots of water pressure in the shower as well as little extras (i.e. make up removal pads) in the bathroom. The view was wonderful and the rooms very well appointed. Having wi-fi was appreciated as was the breakfast and suggestions of where to eat for dinner. The location, it was a bit out of town, but a lovely setting and nice to see the countryside, and the owner was more than happy to drop us in, and a taxi back cost very little. Nothing was a problem, including the use of swimming towels, and a left camera was sent back to New Zealand. Excellent service. In one word - FABULOUS. Claire was a very gracious hostess. This is a luxury guesthouse, with beautiful rooms and amazing breakfasts. Sit outside and soak up the beautiful views of the Bandon River... it doesn't get any better than this. I have recommended Rivermount to all my family & friends... Claire the owner is fantastic. Very welcoming, funny and helpful. Bed was very comfortable! Very clean, towels and toiletries were changed daily. Breakfast was superb! Decor is very nice, view amazing and staff exceptional. Don't hesitate to book! Kinsale harbour is beautiful. We liked everything about Rivermount House. The location overlooking the river and hills was perfect. The inside facilities were perfect, rooms were spacious and comfortable and afforded views of the river and hills. The morning breakfast was excellent. The B&B was beautifully decorated and really clean. We had our breakfast there, and the food on offer was delicious.. the pancakes were yummy :-) The owners were great, they offered us lifts into town, which was a real bonus. I loved the fact that I could arrive in such an idyllic place with three small children,all under five and still feel welcomed and pampered!fabulous staff,wonderful atmosphere and the best breakfast we've had in a long time. The views from Rivermount House were absolutely fantastic, our bedroom was furnished to a very high standard, breakfast room likewise and staff very friendly, would definetly recommend to friends. The hotel was really lovely. Particularly impressed by the American converter in the wall jack. Bed were very comfortable and the view from our front room was amazing. Nice breakfast, too. I feel the house would benefit from better signage,took us a little while to find but we were travel weary and not as 'on the ball' as we could have been,it's such a fabulous place to stay that i'd hate for people to miss it. Further away from city town center. The small TV made a horrible buzzing noise when not watching it (off, in theory). We had to unplug it. No biggie. We weren't watching anyhow. Biggest potential issue: they don't take credit cards. Good thing I had traveller's cheques. Loved it all. The inn was a bit far out of town which was not a problem because it was in a beautiful location. It was a bit tricky to find. Outside of town so sort of out of the center of Kinsale activities, but we knew that when we made the reservations. Nothing. Not close enough to Kinsale town to enjoy nightlife. TV had bad picture which made viewing difficult. a little ways out of town. Only downside is that the house is out in the middle of nowhere. I thought it was closer to town of Kinsale. Nothing. Difficult to find the first time around. nothing. Odd that front door was constantly left open considering volume of wasps around the home. Killed many inside the home. Couple of miles outside of town. Not much around. A little hard to find the House especially at night. We were unfortunate to stay at a time when fog was shrouding southern Ireland - so not much of the lovely views we remember from last time. Nothing. TV could be better. Price a bit expensive for a place that is a bit far from the city and interesting sites. Hot water shortage in shower. description on how to get there. The room are good but VERY SMALL. The isolation of the room isn’t very good and you listen the people when they are speaking in the corridor or in the adjacent room. Staying only for the landscape isn’t enough. Facility had a "cold" feeling - didn't seem very consumer-friendly. Worker in dining room was, however, friendly. We never met the owners except to have a new cable attached to our TV and to pay. Also, they did not accept payment by credit card which is not consumer-friendly. The usual hospitality of a B&B was lacking. payment in. We arrived at 6 and was met by a young lady who literally showed us the room and was in no way friendly as you would expect in Kinsale. Later on in the evening at 10, I knocked to pay as we were leaving very early in the morning. Once again I was treated as if I was putting them out, with no friendliness. All very robotic!!! The the shower is terrible in the room (no power) the TV may as well be non existent as it is so small.
