Oka Kartini is the owner, and was there to greet us when we arrived. She was the most incredible host I have ever had the pleasure to meet in all my holidays. She cooked a feast for us and her other guests on our second day there. I've never had such delicious vegetarian food. She'll also be around the reception/dining area during the day and is always keen to serve you a cup of tea and have a chat. The pool was very deep and the room was great for the price we paid.
all reviews » Oka Kartini's warm welcome made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. We were invited to share meals at no cost. It was a pleasure to stay. Pool was great to relax in after a full day walking and shopping. Close to shopping, yoga classes and food places. Breakfast was included. Very quite at night. The hospitality was wonderful and the gardens are gorgeous! Full breakfast with good food. Great location, close to lots of great stuff. The pool was tranquil and well-maintained. Staff is very polite and super helpful, and the owner is a total doll. The Staff is very nice. Hotel location also very good near to all food Restaurant & Shopping area. Its a Lovely place to stay in Ubud Near from any place & easy approach. You feel as a Home. The Oka Kartini was consistently good in all aspects and i would stay there again.They also had a swimming pool which was very welcome on the hot afternoons. Very sweet and helpful staff!. Owner Staffs Service Location. The room was very spacious and the fresh flowers placed everywhere were a nice touch. The location was excellent . Very near to the ubud market. Staff was good. Manager was lovely. Their was a local celebration and he apologised for the noise level (we got no sleep). He also rang our guide for us. We had booked a room through letsbookhotel.com with air conditioning, but when we arrived, we didn't have it. They explained that they had just started using letsbookhotel.com and it was a mistake that they had made. I've checked letsbookhotel.com now and it is fixed. They compensated us with more than 40% off our bill which was much more than I would have expected. The bathroom is a bit dated, but for the price I wouldn't complain. It took 3-4 flushes clear the toilet. Rooms are a little out-dated. The water pressure in my shower was lacking. Nothing to say abd about this hotel. There was nothing negative i could think of. The quality of one of the rooms that we stayed in could have been better. Cold showers, doors were not secure to the rooms. The 1 sun lounger they had by the pool was broken. My room was infested with cockroaches. There was one big one on my bed. The hotel did not have a bug spray too. The room was basic and poor quality. No mosquito nets. Beds looked like they seen better times. unhygienic bedding bathroom slippery paths when wet ...plumbing overflowing toilets. sheets pillows stained and smelt of body odour.i had scabies/ bed bugs when i arrived back in my country....i was covered in lesions.
