The Harris hotel in Malang is very new and clean, with lovely mountain views and a big swimming pool. The rooms are nicely and brightly furnished with nice colours and trimmings. The buffet breakfast is very good, with both Indonesian and Western food. The staff are courteous and helpful. Very Clean and the wheather so fresh. Nice swimming pool, but can't take long time to swim because the water is cold for me.

I like the garden view on a pool side also the the kids club.. Good location, fresh air in the morning, good food. simple. The hotel is a few kilometres north of town, and set in a river-side complex, difficult to reach with public transport, so you need a taxi to get there from town (about 30,000 INR). The hotel taxi is over-priced at 70,000 INR to town and 450,000 INR to Juanda airport or Surabaya (Tirta travel minibuses cost 70,000 to Juanda p.p.). A car with driver hire is reasonable at 450,000 INR for 12 hrs., which can be used to tour Batu and surrounding areas. Nothing. They organise trips to Bromo but if you need a trip to bromo-ijen-bali its better to book it in a specialised travel agency that offers you the whole package. i got a room that facing a construction site, very bad view. the room also facing east, so in the morning i couldn't open the window curtain because the sunlight was so strong. Nothingh. the internet facility was not very satisfying, our room was not yet available when we came-we waited almost an hour and we had to follow-up the hotel staff frequently, the answer of the staff when we asked about the slippers was illogical, had some mosquitoes in the restaurant. so far no. Nothing. Many guests take a lot of food from the amazing breakfast and don't eat it. What a waste in a country where are hungry people. Charge for what is left over?. No car wash facility. Food was avarage or sometimes even below avarage, but the food was still expensive. Rooms were NOT CLEAN. They didn't clean under the beds. There was molt in the bathroom which is very bad! Also there is a lot of noise coming from the hallway and also other rooms. I wouldn't stay here when the hotel is full during high season. Conclusion, I was kinda dissapointed and I am not sure if I will choose Harris Hotels again. The staff response to our request is quiet slow. We arrive at hotel in 3 pm, but we have to wait for the room to be prepared until 4 pm. They should inform us before if the room is not ready when we check in. In 6 pm, I call room service number to order food (apparently they use only one number for all service) but no response until 3 times calling, then I go down to the lobby floor and order the food in the receptionist (??ii). A little far from town but doesn't matter, hotel provides free shuttle twice daily to town anyway. for the motor bike parking area..way too far from the lobby..i rate poor for the spa..didnt get a welcome drink..even for a mineral water u have to wait the order from the cafe and exclude spa price cost..the bathroom after spa was normal..bit disapointed actually. Staff were not friendly, table arrangement in the restaurant was not like stars hotel, it was like wedding party. Service during dinner and breakfast buffet were so poor, even the food was good. everything should pay.
