As a 40+ solo traveller I enjoyed the comforts provided by Kaluku Bungalow including the king bed, air conditioning, and private outdoor shower and toilet which was beautifully designed with natural slate and stone. There are only a handful of bungalows available at Kaluku and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the banana pancakes for breakfast. The views from the shore in front were very calming and relaxing. The Kaluku bungalows are not budget or backpacker accommodation for G.
all reviews » The bungalow is clean and nice. It is on the beach as all hotels on Gili island are. The shower and toilet are under the sky;) Breakfast is simple but nice. It's better to go to other places to swim and lay on the beach as there is no actually beach in front of the hotel and the sea is not deep enough. The island is perfect, it's like paradise!. Very good location in front of a snorkeling & diving spot. Near from nices restaurants. Woman staff very sympathic. Really nice to take breakfast with the view on the sea. Exceptionnal sunrise at 6am just above the sea in front of bungalows. Very nice location although no real sandy beach snorkeling is beautiful right in front of the bungalows. Good swimming pool next door @ marlin dive. - Positioned right in front of one of the best snorkelling spots - One of the staffmembers (female) made us really nice breakfast every morning - Outside bathroom - Your own little cabin - Bikes to rent (they now have new ones). Stayed for 2 days. Good location for a meeting sunrise. Comfortable bungalow, bathroom at the open air. Insects in the bungalow was not. Delicious breakfast on the beach. There is Wi-Fi. Good position. Nice breackfast served on the beach. Awesome open-air shower. There was a TV and mini bar included which I didn't use. But others may enjoy. The breakfast options could have been better. There is no restaurant at the Kaluku Bungalows itself but There are two very good cafe restaurants adjacent. It's not convenient that the hotel doesn't have its own restaurant. Almost all hotels on the island have. If do not ask to clean your room they will not ckean it as they do not have the second key. So ask!. Poor quality of rental bikes. - No own pool, but you can use the one lying next to the property - No real beach. At first time, the staff was not friendly. We ordered tea, the staff brought tea with lots of mosquitoes floating in it. Unreliable doors, constant problems with the closing of a key. Very hard to hear the sounds of the street (carts with bells). Wi-Fi is very slow. Porch overlooks the reception. Living room is very cramped. The bungalows need refurbishment. It's difficult to pay with credit card.
