The hotel pays meticulous attention to details that make a stay luxurious. Greeting guests with a very traditional namaste with the accompanying physical gestures is both dignified and pleasant. Friendly & helpful staff. Nice lawn and conveniently located. Good spread at breakfast, although they repeat the the same menue every day. As per our request we got a room with a view.

Central location, business hotel, aged building but kept in order. In Kolkata standarts, it is ok. everything was sparklingly clean and the location is very close to business center. At the new Kenilworth as they made an attempt to re do the reception/lobby area , i wish they the selection and finishing of the furnitures in the room were a little classy and upmarket. The lightings and room decor are mediocare. It does not give the ah ha feeling ! It is a far cry from Oberoi Grand & Taj Bengal. scanning device whenever entering the hotel. Room the whole 4th floor smelling cigarette smoke, Once U are a guest the staff should not ask every morning at breakfast which room? How many of you? etc etc. staff not so smart, long check out. small size rooms, food and snacks very expensive, check in staff was not experienced - gave me a double bed when I had requested twin beds during reservation. travel desk was not aware of few details , like distance and time taken to go to shantiniketan. it took lot of time for them to find out. Had trouble with hot water in the shower. No pool and renovation work going n lot of noise at night hard to sleep. nothing. Not much surprise in breakfast. Tired furniture. Dust (I guess it is unavoidable for any place in Kolkata). attitude of staff, esp. the reception is very rude. Is now dated, carpets smell. 1.Smelling towels in the bathroom. 2.Friendly but ineffective staff. 3.Did not have a tele charger which is common for at least 5 to selling mobile tele brands !! 4. Price of liqour/beer/wine extremely high. Higher than 5 star rates !! 5. Restaurant also is too highly priced. 6. They tried to charge the foreigners Rs 2500/ for a 3 KM drop. On the return tri they paid Rs 60 for the yellow cab!!!.
