This central, harbourside property in Höfn is 5 minutes' drive off Route 1 and a 30-minute drive from Vatnajökull National Park. It offers free private parking, as well as on-site BBQ facilities. All rooms provide basic accommodation with shared bathroom facilities. All have cable TV and a washbasin. A daily breakfast buffet including cereals, breads, cold cuts and fruits is available from mid-May to mid-September. Packed lunches are also available. Staff can help arrange glacier tours, ice climbing and snowmobile trips. A geothermally heated outdoor pool and hot tubs are 50 metres away from the guest house. Other area activities include fishing, hiking and bird watching.

We stayed at a 3 bedroom apartment over the Posturinn, not in the main guesthouse. The apartment was lovely, large and clean. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind - they replaced the faucet while we were there and came within 3 minutes when we locked ourselves out at 11pm. I can't speak to the main guesthouse, but I would highly recommend this apartment. We stayed in the annexe at the back of the main guesthouse. Serve yourself breakfast was included which was good, guests sitting room and kitchen/dining room were nice and spacious. Nice outside seating area.

We absolutely loved this guesthouse. We syated in this beautiful house with a great shared living room and kitchen in the heart of Hofn. Couldn't have been better. Thank you. Hofn town is lovely, and we ate very well in a nearby restaurant called the Pakhus. Beds and rooms were very comfortable with plenty of clean towels. Breakfast was adequate. Very nice location with a beautiful view out our window to the water. Also located under a minute walk from two VERY good restaurants - so location couldn't be better. Good location between Myvatn & Reykjavik. It's a good choice if you don't want drive between those place in one day. Very clean & comfortable. Nice owner. Höfn is a little town by the sea close to the glaciers which is likely to be one of your stops in your trip around Iceland given how far apart the towns are. The guest house is by the harbour and close to a nice view point on the whole bay with the glaciers behind. So the location was great. The guesthouse it self is just ok. I mean it's clean and does the job but not more. There are few glitches like broken blinds or toilets so it's not high standard but it's clean and comfortable which is the. One hour far from Jokulsarlòn. Many trips to Vatnajokull departs from F-roads between Höfn and Skaftafell so good location. Breakfast was okay, 2 people constantly watching if nothing is missing on the buffet. Breakfast very good but unfortunately it could not be enjoyed as it should have been due to such cramped conditions in the breakfast area. Reception was friendly and easy and breakfast was very good. Both bathrooms had an issue with drainage, resulting in a mini flood. If you are unlucky enough to stay at the same time as teenagers or anyone with heavy feet, it can be quite noisy as the stairs are wood. You could also hear people in other rooms. The breakfast was adequate but I felt like a student on a budget. Rooms were expensive. One of the rooms (nr. 1) could not be locked and we could not find staff on the premises to report this to after we discovered it in the evening. Sharing one bathroom/shower with 6 other people was a little time consuming in the mornings. I got confused by all the buildings in the complex until I finally sussed out which one had my room. Also, the guesthouse is a tad far from the bus stops. Very small breakfast room in a basement room. At certain timed you have to fight for a chair. Also the quality of the food at breakfast is only average. Shared toilet and shower (known beforehand). Nothing. No 24 hr reception. Staff wasn't as friendly as in all the other places I stayed in Iceland. It seems they where just happy you paid and that's it. Several little things were broken, not a big deal but it suggests the owners don't seem to care much about all the little details. Bathrooms were ok but toilets really dirty. Some room are too small. The room was very cramped and toilet and bath room same. We had two rooms in the bottom floor. Unfortunately the breakfast area was equally cramped with cumbersome chairs to pass. Better furniture might ease congestion. The price was relatively high, but I guess the demand for accommodation was high as well. The girls that served the breakfast were not that friendly as the reception staff. Only one bathroom with toilets for 4 rooms. Old furniture Internet did not work in rooms, only in kitchen and common room. Cramped breakfast facilities. Having to wait sometime before booking in. Upstairs downstairs from sleeping area to shower/toilets. View not as good as expected. Expensive. Backpacker place at a non-backpacker price. Shower access via breakfast room was not comfortable. No sink in the room, only the one inside small wc. Too expensive for what it was. Wall's were paper thin. too expenive for facilities with shared bathroom. Room with single king size bad had beed ordered but 2 small size bads had beed provided.. makeshift shower. Shared bathroom.I did not understand meaning of this word. It looked a bit old and the staff wasn't very welcoming. One shower and toilet between 5 rooms (12-15 people). Requirement to walk through the breakfast area to get to shower and toilet. For the money, a rip off!. Avoid room next to the breakfast room with 24hours noisy fridge, and people chatting at breakfast from 7 a.m. Breakfast room without windows, very tight and makes it hard to enjoy meals. Backpackers standard at 70EUR/night :(. we had a tiny room. maybe some are bigger? breakfast was like lower hostel niveau... in England! The price is much too high for the hostel-niveau you get here. Did not like this place at all. Was the worst in all our Iceland trip. We booked a quadruple room and got a tiny room that could not even comfortably serve three. They squooshed in another bed making for standing room only. Facility was a bit run down. In general... Avoid. very small and primitive room, not even a hook for clothes; no sink in the room as advertised; very poor facilities (toilet, shower); run-down. The staff at reception desk is not helpful, it is difficult to find the guesthouse. And a bit far from the bus station.
