Very good value for money - our own room for 5 people for 3 nights was 20 euros each. The location was great, easy to walk everywhere and there was a cute little cafe on the corner which was open until 4am - so that was great for a late night chill! It did kareoke too and the locals singing were pretty amusing. A very short walk to the river and the main street with the synagogue on it. There were some nice stalls there selling touristy stuff but also mulled wine and food.
all reviews » Location is simply perfect, everything's in walking distance in the downtown. Further sites of Budapest can be cought by really cheap (~15€) hop-on hop-off offer by the reception. Staff is really professinal and kind, specially the guys (thanks for the bar recommendations). Everything was clean and fresh. Definetelly recommended to other backpackers. The hostel was in a great location. Easy to get to the main attractions and close to public transport (Only 2 metro stops to/from Keleti). The staff were lovely and helpful but one of the guys there told us one day that the markets would be open on the sunday, but then when it got to sunday we found out that they weren't - meaning that we'd missed our opportunity and didn't get to visit them. But other than that they were very helpful with booking our visit to the baths and our taxi for the early morning. Roomates talked too much... :O). The lockers were too skinny to fit my backpack but big enough to fit the important things. Also floorboards are incredibly squeeky so if you come in late or have to leave early it's very hard to be quiet!. The temperature of hot water in the shower cannot be adjusted. Somehow gloomy atmosphere. It's better not to exchange currency in the hostel. The rate in the city is much better, but anyway one must be careful. Nothing. The kitchen wasn't superclean. They didn't have the Triple room we booked. We got two doubles instead, which wasn't that Bad. no toilet in t he room. None. Matress is the worst. Todes were not included. the bed had a very thin matress that you can feel the iron pipes underneath. The room was not cleaned in a daily basis. The room we have stayed have too much humidity due to the shower inside it, which was not properly installed. The Wifi inside the room was also poor or did not work.
