Delfini is quite calm, small and charming hotel. It is right on the shore of the sea. Wooden equipped stone walls texture of its medieval building gives you a mystical atmosphere. Rooms with very high ceilings and mezzanine floors provide a special peace and comfort to your lodging. They have a pretty cute private beach right next to the hotel. Superb breakfasts with lots of choice and extras like the small pancakes deep fried and served with honey and sesame seeds - delicious. Staff go out of their way to help. There is a 15-20 mins walk to the town centre and main bus station and local buses stop right outside. Aside from the restaurant there are other taverna nearby but this is not an area heavily populated by tourists. Break. Location right on the beach, windows of my apartment faced the sea. We very much enjoyed our stay at Delfini Beach, the staff were great, very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was deliious.It was a short walk to the old town of Rethymnon and right on the sea, perfect for our short break. the terrace restaurant, the food and the excellent hospitality. The rooms were rather basic, but at the end of the day, we did not spend a lot of time inside. Still very atmospheric even so. Cooking facilities were minimal so perhaps a few more pans and a kettle would help if you wanted to make a meal. I think that a 4 star rating is rather high, perhaps more like a 3 star. Far from Rethymno town, unpleasant walk along the busy road. Better take taxi for 5 euro. But that wasn't really an issue. Room furnishings could do with an update. A little bit far from town center, need 20 minutes' walking. Beds not comfortable. The only downside and it wasn't enough to spoil our visit was that the rooms needed a little bit of love and attention. the location and the beach (very very little and dirty).
