The beach really is just across the road, and the sandy beach was wonderful. The local restaurants were touristy and uninspiring, but we found some excellent restaurants in the old town, which is about 20 minutes' walk from the hotel. Rethymnon is an excellent location from which to explore other parts of Crete, as both Heraklion and Chania are within easy driving distance. Aloe apartments is a very nice place to stay, close to the old town where there are lots of shops and tavernas. The manager of the hotel Lefteris is a wonderful person who will always be glad to help you and give you good advice. The beach is just across the road and the supermarket is only 200 metres away.
all reviews » The receptionist was efficient and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The large balcony was a bonus. No need to ask for wifi codes everything we needed to know was explained clearly. A telephone in the room connected us to reception. Good location, very close to the beach. Friendly & helpful owner. A washing machine was available for use free of charge and we were even given laundry detergent. There is a fridge, kettle and cooking equipment. - Friendly staff - Position, very near to the sea and not so far from Rhétymno (15 min of nice walk on the promenade) - Easy to find a parking place - Apartment clean, with balcony with seasight. Unfortunately when we arrived the receptionist was away. We had to wait for him to arrive, but he did apologize and his efficient manner made up for it. A little difficult to find in the dark as not all the streets are clearly named - this is not the fault of the hotel but the town council!. Shower was small. - Wifi not working in my room, only working in common area - Hot water not really so hot. For the money we paid I genuinely cannot think of any issues with the hotel. I would recommend Aloe Apartments to anyone. perhaps change the way of cooking a little bit old and not easy use and put a shower instead of a bath ( the owner says us next year all would be change ). it was good. 20 min walk from the center. The bathroom was a little bit old and the shower too small. Apartments are dated, basic No pool. incredibly noisy air condition water flow on the shower increadibly slow.
