I loved Pansion Zaharoula because it was so genuinely Greek. The best thing about the place was definitely the lovely owners, Irini and Andreas. They were the kindest, sweetest most accommodating people and made me feel so welcome, safe and were a wealth of knowledge about the island. Irini was possibly the sweetest person I me on my 2.5 month travels around Europe. I will definitely go back and see her again! all reviews » From the moment I got picked up from the airport, the staff were very friendly. The owner himself picked me up from the airport even though I was the only one coming. He and his wife were very courteous and treated me like a valued customer and gave a lot of information about the island and what I can do. The room I stayed in had all the necessities.I needed a last minute room and it was available. Given the price I paid, it covered all the basics I needed (a/c, shower, hot water, wifi). I wou. The owners of Zaharoula are the perfect hosts for such a nice place: they will answer any questions you have, quickly solve any issues, make great recommendations (eat at Mama's!), and provide free transportation when you arrive and depart. The room had everything we needed for our time there and was very comfortable. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to Fira center, and although there is little there besides shops and pricey caldera-view restaurants, busses and rentals are plentiful and close. . The best part in this place, is the staff. What a lovely family! So helpful and nice. The husband picked us from the port on arrival, the wife explained about the place and recommended few things such as restaurants, attractions, etc. The room is very spacious and decorated with nice traditional style. In the last day we got stuck with no cab able to pick us up, and the husband took us to the port and didn't want to get paid for. Highly recommended for the budget traveler, or someone that wan't. We had a wonderful stay at Pansion Zaharoula, and the couple who owns it were extremely available, nice and accommodating. If you're looking for a more authentic and budget friendly room than the luxury hotels of Santorini, Zaharoula is definitely your place. The rooms were nice and clean. The location (along the main road) can be a bit noisy at night (although we had no problem to sleep), but it also means you can reach it easily with motorbikes or cars (and park). I strongly recommend this pl. This is really a wonderful place to stay when visiting Santorini. Owners are super friendly and helpful. They were offering help and info on so many things around the island. Also included are free transfers from/to airport and port. I booked a single room but they upgraded me to a double room because it was free. Beautiful decor, big room with a fridge. They also have a very beautiful garden with tables and chairs. Free WiFi worked slow in the room but really good in the garden. First of all, the family that runs this Pension is very excellent. Irene and Dmitri are very helpful. The place is near the town of Fira. By then you could just take a bus to visit all the places in Santorini. The room is very clean, affordable and has a mini-ref (which I like so I could eat some food at night). Also, they also extended their help to take me to the airport even if the service is only for port. Super-highly recommended!. The owners where so friendly. They went to the port to pick me up when I arrived and drop me then when I have to take the ferry to leave the island, even when it was not at the hour they do that. Very kind and familiar, good atmosphere, quiet, clean, and you can go walking to the bus station to go to every place of the island. The hotel is near the center of Fira and close to the bus station, where you can take buses for all over the island. Good value for the money. I strongly recomended. Our ferry to Santorini arrived at 2 am instead of 1 am. Dimitris, the owner of the pansion, patiently waited and picked us at the port. He also sent us to the port for our departure ferry. It is a beautifully decorated place and is close to the center of Fira, 5-10 min walk in those interesting alleys was quite enjoyable. The hostess is very nice and sociable. she will provide insight information of the island and serve as close as possible to you. Besides, the location is not far away from the downtown area of Fira, about 10 minutes walk. Overall, do not hesitate to book it if you go there. We stayed 3 nights in September and we are fully satisfied. Andreas and his family are very nice people and very helpful with smiley faces.the room is large, it's 10 minutes by food from the city center and bus station. we enjoyed our stay. Great little spot. Our room unfortunatelly was the loudest due to a crowdy street nearby, though all the other rooms at the inner garden seem definetely very quiet. - sometimes weak wifi was weak in upstair room. - over 10min. need to walk fira center and bus station. a bit far from shops and restaurants. Can not get WiFi signal in our room. It may be difficult at times to sleep because of the noise of cars and scooters on the road. Bathroom not ventilated. Particular room was in the middle of the coutyard and was less private than expected. It is on a main road and can be a little noisy. nothing. Noise in the night.
