All the staff were, without exception, very friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in a family room and it was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was great with a very wide-ranging buffet - plenty to choose from - and good value too. For the price the location was great - only a 15 minute walk from Marienplatz and the Altstadt.

The only tiny criticism I could make is although they offer bikes they don't have any children's bikes. local clubs can be noisy sometimes. There was no place to hang your clothes, not even hooks on the wall. Restaurant closed on Sunday. Surroundings could be considered a wee bit "seedy" but never made usfeel unsafe. Would not stop us using the hotel. Had to keep windows closed due to street noise which caused it to be hot in the room.I just like sheets that I can layer depending on how warm or cool that I am. The "eiderdown" is just too hot. Website said there was coffee making facilities, but there weren't. no safe. Its location in the red light area. It was rather noisy on the streets outside but nearly all the hotels in Munich are situated in this area. I thought a 4 star hotel should have been able to tell me the weather forecast and where the closest open pharmacy was: I was instead told the street where I would find a pharmacy and to read the sign on the door which would say where the open pharmacy was (there was no sign on the door).Although it was surroundrd by girlie strip joints, it was quiet andstaff friendly. Room size under roof, and very small bed. Room decor. Dodgy street. No safe in the room. The air conditioner dripped for 3 days and the carpet was very wet. They checked it but never fixed it.In a dodgey area. Strip clubs next door and across the road. Didn't really affect our stay but a bit disconcerting. nothing in the hotel ( four stars) Astor presentation told us that next door and across the street there are strip clubs !!! otherwise nothing to complain complain,. The reception gave me my room before the room became clean. The hotel is next an erotic shop. equipment and room furnishing could be better. Problem is next door because located sex shop. we would only rate this hotel as average. our bathroom was a bit shabby. There was no bath althoug they promised in internet. Next to the hotel is many striptease and kebab-bars which brings...hmm. noise in the morning, the street of the hotel is noise, some special club under the hotel. you know, in the morning someone, after drink alot of beer....... Definitely not a 4 star hotel. There were 3 star hotels on the same street that were better. Vey poor location. No decent bars or restaurants nearby. No food/drink available after 12am.To put simple: this is 2-star hotel, at maximum. For 20-50 eur more youcan get completely other level. Old, dark, no-taste 2-star hotel in abad area sold as a 4-star - where do I sign ?!.
