  Selected this hotel from the Tripadvisor reviews and its location as last time I was in Berlin was about 3-4 weeks after the wall came down and Ku'damm was the centre of everything. Wondered if we had made a mistake by being so far from many of the tourist sights, but in fact it was a good location - quiet at night with a fair few nearby restauran... what people say » ts. Once we had worked out that Savigny Platz U-bahn station was nearer than Uhlandstrasse it was very convenient for travelling by foot, U-bahn and S - This was our second visit to Berlin and both times we stayed at the Askanischer Hof. It truly has its own wonderful personality. A large bay window with lace curtains looks out on the K'damm. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Excellent breakfasts are served in an ornate dining room that is full of great conversation pieces.

  This hotel was exactly what we wanted. Its location was perfect - in a posh street with lots of cafes etc. We particularly liked the little extras for example, free minibar, fruit everyday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the breakfast but the highlight was definitely the steam room which we used everyday.   Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good, situation of hotel was excellent - in a quiet road but very close to Ku'damm. I was visiting Berlin with a friend and so wanted to have a twin-bedded room (not a double bed) and this was the only hotel where a twin bedded room was specified on the room list. There are four restaurants... what people say » very close to the hotel which are convenient for eating in the evening. - Everything. The manager was extremely helpful. The room and shower facility (in the hallway) were very clean. Appreciated the TV in the room. The hotel in located in a good district of Berlin and a 20 minute walk from Zoo Garten train station. The dining area for breakfast was most pleasant and also clean. I found the place and staff faultless. Definitely recommended.
