We had a great experience! Went with 3 friends (40+) for the Christmas market. Had large comfortable rooms, very clean, directly overlooked the market, the mountain, had a slight river view as well as castle view in our top floor corner room. Easy walk from parking garage, but use P12 not P13 as we did for the hotel discount! Even so, 16 euro for 24 hours is not outrageous but would have been free.

The hotel location in the old town is perfect with views to both the main square (directly below) and to the castle (worth a visit). The owners were great and the breakfast provided was superb. The rollaway bed was too hard.We stayed in an attic floor room with low ceilings and beams that was charming, but too cramped for my tall (6'4") husband. Nearest car park expensive. Pitty the mini bar didn't come with a bit more selection there were 3 drinks total - a beer, a water and I can't remember what the 3rd one was..... Would have been nice to enjoy a wine or prosseco in the huge bath we had! A bit disappointing for this type of accomodation. not particularly child friendly and restaurant was closed. Hotel staff was less than friendly - might have caught them on a bad day. The accommodation was basic but clean. Englisg speaking tv(entertainment channels or dvd player) should have been provided. Therewas no lift and the stairs to the 2nd floor was a little dangerousbecause of winder steps and some strps were of different size. Thebanister was not continuous.noise from the hallway. facilities such as soap and dress hangers were low quality, therefore the room may remind of one of those in a youth hostel. no view from the room.

In our cosy, 74-seater restaurant we offer typical German and regional specialities, including Schnitzel, home-made cheese Spätzle, and an "Old Heidelberger" sausage platter with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. We also offer seasonal dishes such as asparagus or venison.

During good weather, you can sit at our outdoor cafe tables on the marketplace. Enjoy people-watching, gaze at the castle and the Holy Spirit Church, and relax in the sunshine with a good beer or wine.

Our wine comes from just north of Heidelberg, at the Schriesheimer Winzergenossenschaft (Schriesheim’s winegrowers’ cooperative). With almost 400 hectares of vineyard, the Badische Bergstrasse is the smallest area of wine cultivation in Baden, resulting in quality over quantity. The wine is as varied as the land from which it is produced, and we recommend you take the time to explore both.
