It was clean. This is an wafull hotel.There is no elevator available and so have to carry your luggages up.The room smells awfully cigarette smoke, hotel could not provide a better room.The bed sheets and pillow cases also smelled so bad that both my son and my wife covered their pillows with their clothes.They did not sleep well.I recommend to take this hotel from your site and I ask my money back.No Lift, small stairs difficult with voluminous baggage. The sound insulation is poor.The neighbourhood felt safe although it wasn't very nice (kind of 'red light district' to my liking). Lack of the night lamp (night reading was very difficult, the main ceiling lamp was too dark). They had home made electric wiering that could kill ppl, for real. Toilet and rooms were dirty and lots of stuff was broken. A very flithy experience, but it only got 2 stars so maybe that is to be expected. The bed was broke and they didn't really bother when told the next day.The shared facilities were poor (I never found the bath room) and the toilet was not in good order. This was poor value for money. I only stayed here in desparation as all the good hotels in Hamburg were booked due to a major conference. It is not a clean hotel. Rooms smell cigarertte smoke and beds and pillows smell also bed (probably because of poor quality detergent).
