It was really clean, the staff was exceptionally friendly and the location was pretty good too. I stayed in a single room with attached bathroom. Although the hotel is situated next to a train line, my windows faced an inner yard and it was nice and quiet so I slept really well. The big windows hardly block out the light though so do consider bringing a blindfold. The hotel has really cosy common rooms with pool, huge TV set, boardgames etc but hardly anyone ever used it!.

We felt very much at home and enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel as well as a movie night in the cozy TV/DVD room after browsing through the great DVD selection of the hotel. The breakfast was pretty basic and exactly the same every morning (I stayed for 5 nights) but I definitely didn't stay hungry. Internet was the weakest link in Berlincity hotel - you had to get a new code for it every 24 hours at the reception, the signal didn't reach the room but only worked in the common areas plus the connection was poor in the evenings (good in the mornings). The rooms are furnished in German Jugendherbergs-style (youth hostel style) and it would not be bad to add some more love (colors) with pictures or art. The hotel in general and the community rooms are decorated very nicely though. No WiFi in rooms, only in foyer/lounge. No darkening curtains, only window blinds. Because of wooden floors, you can hear people walking on the corridors, but rooms are quiet. All furniture is IKEA-quality. Public parking is free, but it's hard to find a free spot. Water from shower head is sort of small. Toilet smell really bad. Most of the rooms don't have integrated bathroom. a bit far from the city center. Nothing. The quality of water heating system need to be improved. anything but quiet place (even in a single room) - overlooks the railway, and you hear every movement from the hallway ! not really fair price : quality ratio for a room without bathroom (=overpriced!). Shared toilets. No toilettery in the room.
