Located on a sunny and pretty squareand within a short walk of the Seine, the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame and so many other great Parisian sites, this hotel is beautifully refurbished but has retained lots of character. Rooms were on the small side but comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free wifi great. We stayed at Select when we got married in 1975, the hotel was a fair 2**hotel at that time. It has now developed into a very nice luxurious hotel and we really enjoyed the days here. Especially I would like to mention the staff, very friendly and professional. We will certainly come back!.
all reviews » This hotel is right next to the Sorbonne. It's got a great courtyard with restaurants and bookstore, and great for people watching. It is near Notre-Dame Cathedral (and for all literature geeks like myself, the hotel is within walking distance of Shakespeare and Company). Its location was perfect we found the staff very helpfull and they always had a smile for us. We were very pleased with our room over looking the square we would give the hotel 10 out of 10 for location and will recommend it to any of our friends going to Paris. The hotel is in a great location. In the Latin quarter, close to plenty of shops and close to the line from CDG airport and Paris De Noord station. The staff are very friendly and happy to assist with anything. I liked the design of the hotel, its location both for sights and in relation to key transpost hub. The staff were friendly and coutreous. Breakfast was reasonably priced. Lovely quiet hotel clean and comfortable room. A choice of restaurants just outside the entrance and a supermarket less than 5 minutes away. Would definitely recommend. Handy location. location. hotel's location is good, but the hotel is situated near the Sorbona University and thefore there were many students every day, except saturday and sunday. While the hotel is nice and the location is great, the price is exorbitant. Shop around and see if you can get a better deal. On our second night we had to go to reception as our toilet roll and tissues were not replaced ,on our way out we had called at reception and they were in our room when we returned. The rooms are a little tiny and even though we were there in winter, the rooms were very warm. We tried adapting the air con, but it appeared to be centrally controlled. We ended up opening the window to get the temp right, but the negative of this was it was a little noisy. The room felt a bit small, breakfast had no hot food options and the lifts were a bit cramped. Their wasn't a great deal of choice for breakfast but enjoyed the decor. Breakfast could be better. Everything was fine. The room was small, though not out of line with other Paris hotels I have stayed in. Bathroom (toilet) was not clean on check in but later rectified. No shower curtain. We liked everything, there is nothing we didnt like about this hotel. The rather abrupt lady on reception when we arrived. breakfast. Nothing, loved it!. Unreliable Internet Very small bathroom Unsafe stairs on the ground floor Poor breakfast. Nothing that I didn't like. Small room, small elevator. Rooms a bit smaller than led to believe by original photos. Wifi didn't work.very limited breakfast.No mini bar or coffee in room. No iron.No proper shower.lift unreliable. Noisy at times - mainly from other rooms. the lift - too small - claustrofobic and the stairs were small too. the breakfast is very poor, little rooms. The single room is very small, but that's Paris I guess. Also, the breakfast selection has been unchanged for years. Some variety would be good. One person behind the desk in particular was rather rude. it wasn't drink water at the room. The next day we've booked the hotel we were collected Eur 265 for an authorisation (booking fee). When we were leaving the hotel promised us to refund Eur 265 after a week. And now the month have passed and no outcome from the hotel. They ignored our post .
