The hotel roon was lovely and was very clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and we were very pleased when we received a complimentry bottle of wine. The hotel is in a great location, a stones throw from the Louvre a number of metro stops. Very convenient location. Location and design. I booked this Hotel "last minute" at an excellent price which included breakfast and was expecting to be in a "room in the basement with no windows". On arrival (after 27hrs travelling) was welcomed by staff and taken into an absolutely lovely room (smallish - but standard for Paris). Rooms were well decorated, had opening balcony windows, clean bathrooms with bathrobes and extremely comfortable. The location is very central and nearby main metro lines. Staff very helpful and cordial. Just 1 min walk to a tourist information office which we found very useful.Beautiful room, great location, very clean and quiet, excellentbed and tv. All, I will come back for sure. Near to lots of place of interest. Convenient and easy access to shops and restuarant. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Their services were execellent. If you are an early riser (7-8am) it is fine but if you are not and are a light sleeper then we would recommend to bring earplugs. Breakfast could be varied - after 4 days wanted a little variety but on the whole good and satisfying. Choice of breakfast was limited and the maid just knocked at the door and entered even if we were inside the room!. Glass bathroom looks bea. Hotel should provide complimentary coffee and tea. Should also provide water heating flask for the guest to boil water.The restaurant service and menu must be upgraded. unavailability of fitness center, slow/no room service in certain times. Most rooms are facing a busy street that is used by cars and motorcycles throughout the night. I found it impossible to find any sleep. Room was too small and bathroom cramped (I had a single room). Rooms are quite small, not enough place for the the clothes. Bed and pillows. We didn't take breakfast but it was added (20 eu perperson) to the bill, so, check your bill carefully. Room a bit small, on noisy street. no gym. the rooms were tiny and freezing cold after a long days drive i wasnt at all comfortable. when i arrived a band was playing in the foyer which irritated me a bit i didnt feel like shouting through live music to check in. Iron and ironing board not available, not tea/coffee maker and toliettries not replaced after first day.Rooms were too small, hotel was not 4 stars but rather 3 stars.

Hotel Lumen is situated in the heart of Paris, halfway between the Louvre, Opera Garnier and Place Vendôme, round the corner of famous Saint Honoré shopping street.

Among the nearby attractions, you will find:

The Palais Royal: a palace and garden located near the Ier arrondissement of Paris. Opposite the north wing of the Louvre, its famous forecourt (cour d'honneur) screened with columns (since 1986 containing Daniel Buren's site-specific artpiece) faces the Place du Palais-Royal, which was much enlarged by Baron Haussmann after the Rue de Rivoli was built for Napoleon. Today it houses the Conseil d'État, the Constitutional Council, and the Ministry of Culture.

The Tuileries Garden (French Jardin des Tuileries) which is surrounded by the Louvre (to the east), the Seine (to the south), the Place de la Concorde (to the west) and the Rue de Rivoli (to the north).

Place Vendôme, a square in the 1st arrondissement of Paris located to the north of the Tuileries Gardens and east of the Église de la Madeleine. It is the starting point of the Rue de la Paix. Its regular architecture by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and pedimented screens canted across the corners give the rectangular Place Vendôme the aspect of an octagon.

By Car (from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport):
- Take the A1/E19 motorway towards Paris Centre.
- Take the exit signposted Porte de Clignancourt.
- Continue onto Boulevard Périphérique Ouest (west ring road).
- Take the exit signposted Porte de Saint-Ouen.
- Enter Paris and continue on Avenue de Saint Ouen.
- Turn left into Avenue de Clichy and go to Place de Clichy.
- Take Rue d’Amsterdam.
- Continue straight onto Rue du Havre.
- Turn left into Rue Auber.
- At Place de l’Opéra, continue straight on Avenue de l’Opéra.
- Turn right into Rue St. Roch, and left into Rue St. Honoré.
- Then take Rue des Pyramides.

By Public Transport:
Take metro lines 7 and 14, and get off at Pyramides.
Take metro line 1, and get off at Tuileries.
Bus lines 21, 27, 68, 81, and 95 all stop near the hotel.

By Plane:
From Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, take RER B to Châtelet les Halles (direction Massy-Palaisseau), then take metro line 14 and get off at Pyramides.
