Staff very friendly. The room and ensuite were newly refurbished in an interesting arty style and bright colours, which I liked. The room seemed so new, as if I was the first person to stay in it! Hopefully it will age well. The hotel is in a sidestreet, so not too much traffic noise, but very convenient for Gare du Nord.Location and the value-for-money. Also, the hotel is being renovated which makes it better in the future. I was informed about the renovations upfront, which prevented from suprises.

The room was very modern and perfect for what we needed.the bed and pillows were really comfy. close to Gare du Norde, friendly staff, very clean, brand new rooms. There was no hot water in the morning for the shower. still renovating, no bath, slightly small rooms. Room temperature was either too hot or cold and not easily adjusted. The hotel was under renovation which made movement around the hotel akward. Elevator and Corridor are very small - Paint smell are all over the place. Throughout the rest of the hotel, the refurbishment activity spoiled the stay. Bare floors, loose carpets, "work-in-progress" look. Also the bar has no licence so does not serve drinks!. The toilet where there is no ventilation if the window is closed. Room was facing the street so it was noisy at night and you could hear cars and people talking. Shared bathroom could have been cleaner. undergoing renovations- many guests had complaints, some desk staff very unhelpful, others helpful; my room was brand new so i have no complaints becasue i got it last minute at half price. I was scared that I had come to a rat hole: the lobby is still notrenovated and stuff are lying all over the place (read: ugly). Therenovation is not going to turn the hotel into a or luxorious place:cheaply made and undetailed. I didn't sleep well because of noise fromthe corridor and other rooms. Bathroom floor freezing!!. There are still major refurbishment works in the hotel (Sept 08) so the common areas are very scruffy. A strong smell of paint eveywhere! As with many city hotels, the rooms and the corridors are small.redecorating ongoing. all the floor and my room were partly in a renostruction, no hot water in the morning!. service, breakfast,.
