Location was great. Only a short walk to the Gare de Lyon in Paris, which we needed to use most days. Maybe not the best area in Paris to stay, but an easy Metro ride to any other places you may wish to visit. The Reception staff were excellent; very friendly and helpful, and happy to chat in English. The room was slightly larger than others we have stayed in in Paris; not by a lot, but it made a difference. We are travelling for over two months, and easily fitted our two large suitcases in t.

The guy on the front desk was excellent, when I arrived at 11pm off the TGV and then left for the airport at 5am the next nothing, he was on the same shift yet was very friendly and helpful. Great location for city trip. Hop on hop off bus stops across the street. Gare de lyon main train station 200m away. Lots of nice places to eat nearby and lots of delis etc to grab a sandwich as you head off for the day. Very safe area. Reception staff were extremely friendly and spoke fluent English which was great for us. Half hour easy walk to Notre Dame and Latin Quarter and 2 minutes from trains. Quietest hotel we stayed in due to the acoustic ceiling. Fantastic staff. I came to Paris for a break to escape everything and the staff were really helpful. The location is ideal and close to the Gare De Lyon station. Clean room. Will definitely stay here again. Was close to the Gare de Lyon, metro, and hop on hop off bus station. Linens were very clean. I felt the room was a little claustrophobic purely because it had a dropped ceiling and for 129euro I thought it was a bit rich. We were only there for 2 nights which was ok. I wouldn't stay for an extended amount of time purely because I enjoy some space. However have found that in 2 or 3 star hotels in France they are all quite small with pokey showers etc. The lift (elevator) was very small and we had a lot of luggage. We needed extra towels and none were available at 10pm, had to wait until 6am. Nothing! It was as we expected and we were happy with our room!. I lived in a really tiny room on the last floor, the window looking out on the neighbouring wall of a tiny patio. The elevator went up only to the last floor but one, so I had to climb the stairs. As the hotel is situated near the Gare de Lyon, there're lots of beggars in the area. I don't mind "older" rooms as long as they are clean and well maintained. Usually the bathrooms (especially showers) are overlooked and should be better maintained like broken shower heads should be fixed. As was the case in this hotel as well... I didn't like morning staff , they are not cooporative. Almost impossible to get into the shower, the opening is so small! Quite a bit of noise from the hallways. No parking spots available, a little bit expensive. The matress... but then I was only in the bed for 5 hours so not too bad really!. small lift. Bathroom small but clean and shower was great. Bed was uncomfortible and shower/tub were small and difficult to maneuver in. Elevator was small. it had the worst mattress i've tried in a 3* hotel. The size of the bathroom. the breakfast is not very good, better to have a breakfast nearby, at nice cafeterias. The carpet urges a change. bruyant. Vue sur petite cour sombre. Quite expensive for a family room for 4 Breakfast v expensive. Lift didn't go to the top floor (where we were) breakfast could have been more generous. It was to hot in the room. Room size small, bathroom size very small. Free access internet works slow. Couple of phone calls cost 12 Euros (mark up too big). Neighbours a bit noisy (but not terrible). We were initially put on 3rd floor where there were workmen in the hallways, a table & plastic on floors in front of elevator - totally unacceptable. When we complained, manager was extremely rude. We were moved to 1st floor. Elevator often did not work. Generally a bit "tired". A very small room (difficult to get round bed) with hard bed and tatty bathroom door which was broken and with shower curtain to replace missing shower door and with aircon which was switched to heat only though we were too hot and had to open window and suffered street noise. Room was small, dark(one window towards roof of another building, which was covered with HVAC pipes), very small table and night table, extremely slow internet connection, small bathroom with no real door to the room(only some foldable, which wasn´t possible to close properly), shower door not working well. Bathroom was quite small. Slanted stairs.
