The hotel was in an excellent and beautiful location, literally at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to the castle. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and they all spoke great English. My boyfriend and I (we are both 24yrs old) visited the hotel spa during our stay for a back massage which was lovely - I highly recommend. You get private use of the Turkish bath and steam room for 30minutes prior to your treatment which is included in the price, this was very relaxing. The breakfast .

Wonderful position so close to the old Cite, beautiful gardens and pool - you could sit on comfortable sofas on the terrace with a glass of wine in the evening, overlooking the Citadel and watching people toil up the hill! Our room in the Montmorency was on the first floor in countryside style, quiet, views over local gardens and distant hills, clean and well-equipped. Initially w. Superb location. The hotel Montmorency is located just across the road from its the main hotel.. The Hotel du Chateau. Really you are a guest of this hotel, simply staying in a similar building across the road!! The outside bar area overlooking the castle walls is lovely, as is the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The breakfast was very nice, pricey, but worth it for a treat. Breakfast expensive. nothing to dislike about this hotel. It was really two hotels Chateau and Montmorency which was across road. There was no restaurant on site except for breakfast . Our stay was not long enough. In the Montmerency the decor was bizarre and garish. The room was small and the shower over the bath had a mind of its own. Very bright pink!!. Breakfast (optional) is a bit pricey so we found a cheaper alternative in the old town. The rackety chairs in our room. Both were fragile and one broke when sat on. Small room even though we booked a deluxe room. Not clear it was part of the Hotel Du Chateau. At night not enough staff, happened a couple of times that guest had to wait for a while before you could get a drink if the host was on the phone. This is the only negative. There is no reception. You have to park at the chateau hotel where the reception, swimming pool, spa, breakfast and parking are located. It is across the road. It would have been helpful if we had been told this when booking as it was difficult to find a way in, there were no instructions on the door. This is only an annexe of the chateau hotel and access is by a coded key pad, the code is given by the chateau hotel reception. Did not realise it was an annexe of Hotel du Chateau therefore very confused about where to find reception. Similarly from web-site thought pool was adjacent to Montmorency but found it over the road as with breakfast room. No one available at hotel to talk to. Had to go across street to the Chateau Hotel. At hotel annex across the road. Tiny bathroom. Ridiculous bath. Nothing. Lack of information telling you that the reception and car park are at the Hotel du Chateau across the road. Also we were in a deluxe room, which was very small. I'd hate to think what size the standard rooms were. Pricey. The room was tiny for a three person room, on two occasions only two towels were left out. It was only a two person room, charged & sold to us as a three person room. The cistern took for ever to refill, I said this to reception on the day of our arrival, but nothing was done. Very small rooms. No refrigerator and nowhere to store luggage. difficult to find reception at next door hotel no signs. Small double room. Finding the reception! No restaurant. Mandatory to cross the street to checin and Checkout...
