The situation close to the Gare St Jean and the tram station which takes you into the centre of Bordeaux in 15 minutes. It is possible to walk into the centre, via the river Garonne, in 25 minutes. Opposite the station are several cafés and restaurants. The hotel was clean, welcoming, and the rooms a good size with the bonus that the windows open! The breakfast was good value for money with a variety of different dishes and fresh coffee which is another bonus. The shower room was a good si.
all reviews » Location is unbeatable, next to bordeaux sain jean Train Station which is 5-8 minutes walk, very good location if you are hoping from 1 city to another using train, easy tram access to the city center, staff were excellent in giving us recommendation of places to go, restaurant to visit, the backyard patio was nice during summer and spring time. Close proximity to train station and trams (2 mins walk); great way to travel all over the city and beyond. Cheap all day pass on trams, frequent services all over a surprisingly delightful Bordeaux. Loved the modern interior of hotel, very smart. Comfortable, quiet room and excellent shower. The staff were very friendly; everyone spoke to me and wished me a good evening or a pleasant morning. The hotel just felt friendly and welcoming. And I loved that there was a kettle for making coffee in the morning. So many European hotels don't do this. Very clean and funky little room. This place is close to main train station which is handy for airport transfers etc. you can walk into town but it would be 20 mins but the tram is close by and runs very frequently & is only €1.40 per journey. None to report. No restaurant in the hotel (there is a catering service for snacks) but the restaurants of the city center are closeby (10-15 min walk). A bit of noise from the trains but it won't keep you awake. Nothing really. It's on an uninteresting and quiet road but that made no real difference in our eyes. Extremely bare bones in the room. Better after the storm. Front desk staff were quite unhelpful, refused to give us code to garage so we had to call each time we wanted to get in/out. We had to ask the (far more helpful) housekeeping staff how to use the elevator to garage having checked-out our room key. Area around hotel is dodgy - don't hang around at night, use tram from the train station. No fresh milk. Tight parking. Area around hotel was a bit unsavory but tram was closed to take you into old city. Unfriendly staff, no safety box in room, noisy neighboorhood (bar). Nothing that springs to mind - hence full marks (above). for the budget, it was a steal. Too loud pop music at breakfast _ how about just peace and quiet! No 0% natural yogourt no sugar free muslei or oats too soft pillows. Towels good be better and water bottles should available in the room. The shower had no shower gel. breakfast time: loud pop music (why not tranquillity?) and no 0% natural yogurt or sugar free muslie. Wifi connection didn't work in our room.
