The hotel was close to the train station and the surroundings were pretty especially with the freshly fallen snow. The receptionist, Anne W. was very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The hotel is quite nice and my room was very cozy. The bed is comfortable and everything was very clean. There is a variety for breakfast and the duck (with fresh thyme) I was served at dinner with the parsnip puree and caramelized beets was a spectacular meal. Breakfast is a bit too healthy - no butter, no hot milk, no cheese (but in general it's good and quite sufficient, it's just that I don't like low-fat food and prefer the natural one). The area the hotel is in didn't seem very inviting, but we were only there for a few hours before retiring. The room lacked proper ventilation. There was no fan or air conditioning. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I arrived quite late missed dinner. I did have some dehydrated food with me and the staff kindly boiled me some water however it would have been preferable to have a kettle in the room. I didn't discover any public transport to/from the hotel and I was advised to take a taxi to the hotel from the station. A little bit far away from the city center. I heard snoring from the room next door. The bathroom had no counter for cosmetics, etc. There is nothing I do not like :). No mixed sauna. No announcement in English (Finnish only) or oral when checking-in that there is no warm water next entire day. no air conditioning separate in rooms. The gym was updated; no free weights, only machines. For modern fitness people I guess this is great, but for someone looking to get some good weight lifting done, it's not that great.
