Hotel Strandlyst, dating back to 1895, is located on the north-west coast of Jutland. The ferry terminal in Hirtshals is a 5-minute drive away, where you also find the North Sea Aquarium. Free on-site parking in available. All the rooms at Hotel Strandlyst are individually decorated and sized. Some even have a seating area. Bathroom facilities are either private or shared. In the tradition of the Danish “Badehotel” there are no TVs or radios in the rooms, however there is WiFi in all areas of the hotel. Facilities include a terrace, where you can enjoy your meals or a drink, a spacious garden and common areas with a TV and a few games. Hotel Strandlyst has an in-house restaurant, open during summer, where you can enjoy a meal based on local products. Hotel staff can recommend area activities, such as hiking and cycling or a day at the beach. A 10-minute walk away is Tornby Beach. Aalborg and Frederikshavn are less than one hour away by car.

Very nice and historically interesting seaside hotel from late 19th century. Owner is a very nice lady, can recommend this hotel to all. Beautifully located close to beach. I loved the country side and proximity to the beach. The hotel owners were very friendly and helpful. Breaksfast was great!. Staff is very friendly and service minded. Typical Danish breakfast. Not to much to choose from but very good quality.

What I expected.Very flexible staff!. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful,when present. Breakfast was good. Quiet location. Sound carries easaly between rooms. Nothing. small room but plenty of space to relax in the hotel. Shower is really small. Roms without a bathroom. Nothing. Almost everything. There were a party just under our windows. We were going to sleep, spesially with the small children. That was impossible. We had to have windows closed, because of the noise. The temperature was about 35 degrees an very diffikult to sleep in. The curtain was thin, white and transparent. In the hall, people was running and shouting til late in the night We were shocked . Rien. I came in late, no one in the reception, just a phone and a nice welcome note. Checkout time was 730. I wrote at the register that I had to check out earlier, so later in the evening the concierge woke me up so that I could pay beforehand. Could have been handled better. Of course, the hotel does not usually cater to business travellers like me, with odd check in /out times, so I think any ordinary tourist would have a very nice stay there. Small rooms, kind of oldish style... No restaurant Very basic ,small rooms ,minimal "bed&breakfast" type, value max 250 DK per night. Actual price 625.- Very poor sound isolation between rooms Only comfort : bed. I give it 0.5 starts out of 5.
