Able to check in earlier than advertised time - great for us coming off an overnight train trip. Great room with great bathroom. The chap who checked us in was friendly and helpful. - very clean and renovated rooms, very close to the "old city" (5' on foot). I 'd definitely recommend this hotel. It is a very nice penzion in the abcient city. Very friendly people and it is very clean.

Despite initial concerns regarding the decor prior to our visit the reality was that this was a clean and nicely decorated hotel with a full kitchen and great location. Good location a short walk to the town centre and 12 to 15 minutes to both main railway stations. The manager was very helpful and the hotel was very well presented after recent renovations. The price is a little more expensive but too be expected in Cesky Krumlov.We could not check in until 17:00 on the first day. a little bit far to bus station. Had to walk up/down about 5 flights of stairs in order to reach the center of town. They could do with putting new photos on the website to show how nice the rooms are.One extra key would have been good as we were triple sharing. we got off the wrong bus stop and had a to walk through the town to the hotel, our own fault just a lot of stairs and cobble stones if you get it wrong!. The location is not far from the old town but a bit difficult to find with heavy carrier. When we got of the bus, we couldn't find the Pension, so we asked somebody, we found out it was out of range from the map. The small double room size is really small. If you prefer a spacious room, book for triple room with balcony for duoble usage. We had a rooms with balcony, unfortunately the view was the door to the beauty parlor, a large rock, and a wall.there was a lot of light in the room coming from the outside, I had to sleep with eyes covered. Stayed two nights, bed not made, second day, maid did not clean room. Far from centre, you have to walk uphill and then downhill. We found our room smaller then we expected. Without air conditioning and being summer, the room was hot and stuffy with the windows closed. With the windows open after 11.45pm, the noise from the many passing revellers on there way back from the town centre in the narrow lane under our window every night made it difficult to sleep.The cleaner starts to early and makes to much noise.

The guest house is in a charming and historic building, which has been newly and sympathetically reconstructed. Close to the centre of the city and the main square, the guest house is well-placed for exploring this picturesque city. The painter Egon Schiele once lived in Český Krumlov and today visitors can admire his work in a museum dedicated to him. The city’s main attraction, however, is the enormous Krumlov Castle, which is the second largest in the Czech Republic.

Krumlov Castle is unusually large for a town of Krumlov's size; and, in the Czech Republic, only Prague castle is larger.

The castle also contains a preserved Baroque theatre which was completed in 1766. The theatre is still complete with original stage machinery, scenery and props.

Krumlov also has a museum dedicated to the painter Egon Schiele, who lived in the town.

Ten kilometers from Krumlov is one of the Czech Republic’s oldest monasteries, Zlatá Koruna ("The Golden Crown"). About 30 km from Krumlov is the Hluboká Castle, established in the 12th century and later remodelled according to Windsor Castle in England.

Krumlov is close to the Šumava National Park, the Czech Republic's largest national park. The Šumava mountains lie along the border with Austria and Germany and offer a range of natural habitats - peat bogs, Alpine meadows, primeval forests, lakes, and rivers. The area is popular with walkers, cyclists, and canoeists on the Vltava.

Other attractions in Český Krumlov or nearby in the surrounding area include:
Castle Garden, the Revolving Theatre, the Museum of Torture, the Waxworks Museum, the Český Krumlov Regional Museum, the Graphite Mine and the Five-Petalled Rose Festival.

Travelling information

Cesky Krumlov bus station is very close to the town centre, therefore it is strongly recommend to take the bus (the train station is far from the centre and the train is slower).
