Me and my friends stayed at this hotel last month for 1 night. We booked a 4 pers. ap. I liked the way it looked but we had no oppening window to the exterior. It was a glass wall, the batheoom had no window and the other room had a small window to the coridor. It was ok for us, because it was not that hot outside but I can imagine it can get pretty hot and suffocating in the summer (it was ap. 3). On the otherhand, I think they have also some pretty cosy ap. and maybe with windows. Liked verry.
all reviews » As business consultant I can tell to all potential visitors coming to ZAGREB: Hotel ILICA - can be a case study for all young hotel managers of how to get benefits from hotel with very limited possibilities. I can recommend it for businessmen, turists who do not like ARTIFICIAL "keep smiling" and prefer very open minded and sincere attitude of hotel staff. These guys really like to serve and help...Nothing to do with trained "robots". very close to center and most of the pubs and restaurants. lots of tv channels, and i watched bayern munich & barcelona match from tv inside the room. a window which u can see some trees and green stuff on the back yard and take fresh air easily inside the room. polite and helpful employees. if your budget is limited and u want to be close to city attractions u should prefer this hotel. very close to the center, right in the main street leading to the main square (there is also near by tram station). the staff is very friendly and the rooms are big and nicely decorated. there was an AC and hot water and everything worked as it should.there is also free wifi and the signal is string in the rooms there is also parking for the hotel (but it's extra money). Hotel Ilica is completely over the top if you like 'collectables' in every corner and on every surface. It's eccentricity is wonderful, this includes the staff. Location was perfect. Walking distance to everything with a tram stop right outside. Breakfast was simple, though plentiful. We were warned about the owner, fortunately for us, he was away during our stay. Very friendly and helpful staff made us feel comfortable from our arrival. Location is good, being on the main street running through the city and with a tram stop right across the road... just 2 minutes to the central square, about 10 minutes walk. Fittings are luxurious in a "French Mirror Maze" style,and everything worked well (heater, shower etc). Great welcome from Davor and staff, made to feel at home. Definately aimed at the business market- very glitzy and sort of 1930`s decor- very palatable Room 25 was nice and quiet and a decent size. Free wi-fi. Only a 10 minute stroll in to the centre. Adequate parking on site. I`d stay again when next visiting Zagreb. This is a great little "over-the-top" hotel in Downtown Zagreb. It is so far from a conventional, commercial hotel that it is not even in the same ball-park, lots of mirrors, glitz and good old-fashioned service from a bygone era. We loved everything about it, especially the great location and the price!!. Very good stuff always helps solving any problem. Located in the very center of the city which is great for sight seeing. And very cheap. Though rooms are too small and not very comfortable -they have everything - wireless Internet, tv, air conditioning. It worth to stay in couple of nights!. Even the room has a good size for 3 person to stay easily(even had 2 double bed) the decoration and furniture should be renovated. Breakfast is rather simple and not very tasty. Rooms are not soundproof, we can often hear the neighbours. It seems that we have been downgraded for the first night. The breakfast was minimal but expected for the price. There was a window to the bathroom which can be seen into from inside the room; this had to be blocked as we were a group of friends travelling. Bathroom in our room not separated from the rest of the room with proper walls, just some half-height fence-style "walls". No places to hang towels. A bit old-fashioned blankets, not in the cotton-cases, which reduces feeling of cleanness. Breakfast was a bit modest in terms of choices - no fruit, or cereals, or yogurt, e.g. The only downside was that breakfast was just bread and jam with little packets of soft cheese or pate. A bit of ham or cheese would have been good. But breakfast was a was insignificant compared to everything else and there's a great bakery just up the road. Very poor breakfast for a 3 stars hotel. Breakfast might have some more choice than only bread with marmelade or meat. Real juice instead of artifical colored/flavored lemonade would be nice! Staff was very forthcoming though!. The breakfast could be a little better & a little more substancial. The breakfast was inadequate. Breakfast was not up to standard teaspoons are used to eat cereals. The bathroom was a little weird: there was a window that let occupants of the room see the person using the toilet!. one day, there was no staff at 7 o'clock for serving breakfast, and i have to skip my breakfast. Very poor breakfast, room is very old and needs repair (especially bed :)), weak Wi-Fi signal, also hotel blocked 50% of cost on the card (it is unusual and unpleasant) in advance - so if you cancel your booking, you will not see this money on your account for a rather long time... the breakfast is simple. only bread. there are many ants in my room. everything is ok. There is no bicycle service as was indicated in the hotel description. Nothing!. Breakfast consisted of coffee and bread/butter. Poor sound isolation in the room. Small room. Although they are very nice, the staff did not know to give basic information about the hotel. 2 bedroom suite - TV only in main bedroom "Separate living area" was small part of main bedroom. Poorness of the breakfast. Breakfast, not much to choose on. Very thin walls! We heared everything that happend outside our room. The toilet in the room doesn't have ceiling.. The breakfast is very poor!. Getting moved about rooms 3 times and there being ants all over my room door. Also feel the hotel is getting a bit dated. breakfast poor quality,no variety. Jam,bread and butter cordial juices.tiny single room, electricity plugs unusable/vandalised?. Furniture and almost everything is very old. very tiny bedroom, poor breakfast.
