Situated near Diocletian's Palace in one of the oldest parts of Split, this newly renovated stone villa is within walking distance of many of the city’s attractions. The ferry to the islands is also just 2 km away, so you can easily make a day trip out to Šolta, Brač or Hvar. Alternatively, the beach is not far away, so you could just spend some time lounging on the sand or go and explore the monuments of this UNESCO-listed city. The air-conditioned rooms are situated over 3 floors, so if you don’t fancy taking the stairs, make sure you request a room on the lower floors.

Excellent location, an easy stroll from the Ferry, along the water's edge past the seafront Piazza and into the quaint "old town", just beyond. No taxi required! Our hostess Joanne was wonderful, assisting us with directions, internet and phone calls, when we needed urgent medical care. The narrow alleyways felt safe even at night, and this hotel is an easy walk to busses and island ferries.

The location is so nice, near to promenade and Diocletian Palace. a bit far from the main bus station. creaking floors. However, that said, you have to bear in mind the excellent value for money this little hotel has to offer.Not a real problem, but can be a minor annoyance: the hot water tank is a bit small, so save your hot water. Don't dine at the main road pizza house, there is a much better one just furthere from the main road past villa varos.only a small point but would be nice if the times that the reception desk are open were fixed and posted up - a bit of a lottery at present!. The kitchen needed a bit of cleaning. See above. There isn't much one can't like -- it's a very nice place, very well conceived and maintained. Breakfast cannot be taken at this hotel. Parking near the hotel was not possible, as this hotel is located in Varos, a district with very narrow alleyways - but this is part of its charm as well.The room rate was rather higher (by about £10) in Croatian Kuna than we were expecting from converting the quoted Euros price. The office closes at 23.no toiletries offered. room was very light, only thin curtains - difficult to sleep once the sun started to rise. Parking was a nightmare with our hire car! No breakfast is included - you have to walk to a restaurant down the road. This is not a major problem as the restaurant cooks a mean ommlette!. The room is very noisy. The floors creak so loudly when the upstairs people are moving it would wake us up.

The Palace offers many tourist attractions one of which is the cathedral of St. Duje - the guardian of Split and Split's Riva, Prokurative and Peristil - distinctive parts of the city - just few steps away.

famous Marjan park, and the Diocletian palace and much more.

How to get to Villa Varos from the ferry terminal, train station and bus terminal.

Walk towards the street named Obala Hrvatskog Narodnog Preporoda Riva and continue walking until the end of the street. Cross over to Sperun and you will see a church on the left corner. Walk straight up and go towards a street named Senjska and make the first turn on the right which is Smojina. Walking distance from the port to the Villa is roughly 15 minutes.

Please note that if you decide to take a taxi, they must go around the city and through the tunnel to reach the hotel.
