Everything. The owners, the service (they went out of their way to serve us), very professional, a couple of restaurants within walking distance that have phenomenal food and were recommonded by the owners. The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the tourist area: near enough to walk, far enough to be very quiet at night. We liked everythng about this place and highly recommend it. If you are traveling to Split, stay here. The staff knows English and does everything to make you comfortable. The room was immaculate and there was plenty of space for two or three people. It is an easy 10 minute walk to old town. Good breakfast and safe location. I'll stay here again.
all reviews » My 83 year old father had contracted a bad cold from our travels in Turkey and the staff at the hotel were incredibly supportive in every way possible and went out of their way to help my father who ended up in hospital. everything was incredibly good,room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable,more what you can expect in 3 stars hotels,very nice people who run the hotel. very friendly staff,hotel run by the familly,very clean,recomend to the other traveliers,will stay at this hotel next time in Split for sure. locationis very good,very beautiful and nice room,staff were very friendly,helpful and excellent,give me good advise on my sightseeing. Just difficult to find on arrival, and although a pretty hotel, it's surrounded by tower blocks- however great value and lovely staff!. Location out of town - not easy to find by public transport - more guidance on bus routes/times from ferry port would be helpful. Access rather dark at night. We would have liked more fruit and less sweet cereals/processed food on the breakfast buffet. :-). It was a little difficult to find because it is set back off the road. Hard to find. Parking not private. Breakfast could be improved.No bar!!. Quite hard to find. No lift, and very steep winding marble stairs with no handrail. The description of the location should more accurately identify that Villa Marjela is in a rather scruffy residential area of high rise flats, but is near the university and close to the city centre. It provides good and friendly accommodation in a guest house sort of way.Is easily a good 10 min walk to the outskirts of the main centre. To befair we did know this as read comments on this site but thought we'drisk it, but honestly dont! After seeing for myself is not good. Itspoilt our stay as we got completely fed up with walk to and from thecentre and having to get cabs in the evening as didnt want to walk throughthe Bronx! Nice hotel, terriable! Location. The location of the hotel was quite far away from the centre, and quite hard to find. For those who like a picturesque location I'd reccomend paying the extra and staying in the old town of split as the hotel was in a bit of a run down looking area (lots of grafitti and tower blocks). A minor issue also was that the room smelt strongly of airfresheners.We would have preferred to be closer to the old town. The range of breakfast products was poor compared with other hotels we stayed at in Croatia. Location was OK if only staying 1 night, but hotel very hard to find - really needs a map!.
