Amazing hotel, beautifully if not always practically designed. The staff were generally extremely friendly and helpful. The new pool area and cafe are lovely. The hotel was extremely busy when we were there and it was difficult to get a lounger next to the pool but this wasn't a problem as there were plenty of other loungers in amongst the trees. Hotel provides beach towels. Breakfast was good with a huge choice. Also food in bar and pool cafe very good and reasonably priced. Treated ourselves .
all reviews » Spent 2 nights here in Oct.,we were given an upgrade to a Jazz Room and althought it was a bit cool for the water it was great for relaxing! Staff so great !! I can see why it is such a conference hotel as they are very service oriented! Lana at the front desk was delightful and enjoyed meeting the head chef that grew up in Canada(woohoo Canadian Maple Syrup on the menu) Ate in L Restaurant twice and would go back again. Presentation and flavors of the dishes were wonderful. Loved the Croation. The hotel had a very unique design. The room was very spacious with a really nice bathroom. The breakfast was also very good and even though the hotel was fully booked I did not feel the place being crowded. The spa, the gym and the outside pool were all fantastic. I liked that there is a number of choices for beverage and food by the pool, and one does not need to dress up to have a bite to eat. This hotel looked like a boring cruiseship on the outside, but once you walk inside - you will be amazed by the look of the lobby. And then the room.. ah, it was amazing - huge balcony, great design, clean, large bathroom. Sweaming pool is amazing, too. This is really important, since Rovinj doesn't have nice beaches near by. I think that this hotel is a masterpiece of design. If you include the most magnificent SPA I've ever visited,the gorgeous nature ,the kindness and distinction of each one that work at tris hotel,you will enjoy tour trip and feel in heaven.every single detail is outstanding. Congratulations Hotel Lone. This is a nearly new ultra modern Hotel which we like, the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The breakfast buffet was extensive, the room was massive with fantastic views from the balcony.They gave us free bikes to use during our stay and we used them to get into the town and around. What more can I say except, Go There!. loved the spa (sauna, baths, pool), the breakfast, and the sister restaurant (the wine vault). we left before breakfast on our last day and they made us a great picnic to go. Beware steam and sauna are in a no clothes area and if you are not used to this it could come as a bit of a shock. If you ring for a taxi transfer make sure you ask for a local taxi. We asked if they could arrange for us to be picked up from the ferry and it cost three times the normal rate as they use VIP transport, although this was only a mini bus. Had to move on to the next destination!!. One of the nights was sushi night. I am a big fan of sushi and I have had sushi all over the world. I have to say that this sushi was pretty poor. (The fish was oky but the rice was terrible and the rolls did not hold together. The taste was kind of sour as well.). Staff at the reception can be a bit friendlier. Food at poolside restaurant shared with Hotel Eden (not of an acceptable standard for a 4* hotel, let alone a 5*); loud music in the corridors; smoking on the terrace and by the pool (perhaps have a limited smoking area); sink in bathroom (I wet shave and it is too wide and not deep enough for that); cost of pedicure was more than in London; lack of free bikes; price of dinner in the hotel. Food in L restaurant was catastrophic. Obviosly chef is trying too much but result was catastrophic (half star out of five)! Driveway to the hotel doesn't look nice, on the level, since cars are parket on the side all the way!. It's hard to find a waiter when you are sunbathing at hotel's lawn, you need to go inside and order. More electric outlets for laptops will be helpful, around the lobby area as well as on the terrace. Quality of breakfast was visibly down after the weekend Children playground was closed and they came up with lots of silly excuses in order not to open it (and they did not) Marketed as family room had a lot of dangerous items inside We had a TEABAG in a soup (the most disgusting thing i have ever seen) ordered for a child and got apology and return of price only after a second (TWO) reminder at the reception! A classic: broken plughole... Poor selection of TV channels. about a 15 minute walk to Rovinj - but I would still stay at Hotel Lone again for the spa. ... There were no enough umbrella at the poolside :(. Small parking space (with a fee) for such a big hotel, the swimming pool gets overcrowded. The construction site on the sea in front of the hotel. Quality of food at breakfast was quite poor for a hotel with such aspirations. Also the walk to the old town while pleasant can get very hot during the day during summer,. prices for roomservice. It is a pity that nice staff are left from this hotel already ..... there were many amateur hotel-staff working there. Specially it was a sad in breakfast time, it was a hard to enjoy .... too busy & mess which you could not imagine. Nothing!. The buffet restaurant - tried it once and the selection was poor and the price as high as the wonderful a la carte restaurant we had tried the night before - both in the hotel. It took a little walk to reech the outdoor swimming pool what wasn't so convinient. the cars were parked on the footpath so that visitors or guests had to walk on the road!. Nothing really! Loved it. Tremendous signalisation of location if you do not use Global positioning system.Hard to find it regarding bad visual signalisation.This should start in Rovinjsko Selo,and the tables shall be big and with big reflective letters. While the staff were all pleasant, they did not feel like they were delivering 5 star service. swimingpool is small,there is no bar in hotel. i liked everything. Wi-fi didn't work in the room. They may think of something to organize a transport for the guests to the old town (minibus or similar?). all was ok!. No fresh orange juice at breakfast, bar is a little small and not to luxury as expected. Wellness is too small for such a big Hotel, the coffee was a not very good. My booking was canceled for fhe 1 day before arrival. It was call from the hotel reception with some excuse! (Overbooking on weekend). So, I stopped at the hotel on 2 days less than I planned. service level. Beach!. Swimming pool very crouded. Cold in the spa, swimming pool and relax area. Glasses missing both days in the spa for drinking water.
