We stayed for 2 nights after doing Sail Croatia for 7 days. The owners were very friendly offering to pick us up from the port, offering a drink on arrival and, noticing that we had been travelling, provided a washing basin so we could clean some clothes. On our last day we checked out by 10pm and the owners very kindly brought our luggage to the port in the evening. The apartment was spotless, spacious and had a lovely view as the apartment is set back on the hill with outdoor furniture to sit.
all reviews » What a wonderful place made even more enjoyable by the warmth and friendliness of Velco & Katica. Velco collected us from the bus station and had no problems with an early check-in. We travelled with friends and booked the two bedroom/two bathroom unit on the top floor which has its own private patio with the most amazing views over the Old Town, the Adriatic Sea and the Pakleni Islands. The unit is modern and spacious, extremely well presented, fully self contained and is located a comfor. The hosts were wonderful, helping us find the location ofter the GPS decided to take us on a tour of Hvar :) and providing us with a Welcome drink on arrival. Nothing seemed too much for them and were most helpful throughout our stay. The accomodation was as described, we had the top floor apartment which was amazing with spectacular views. If you decide you absolutely must go to Hvar, then consider this as a place to stay. It is a good 15 minute walk into town, walking past lovely beaches alon. We could not fault the apartment. Our hosts were wonderful and welcomed us with a glass of wine, told us how to operate all features in the apartment and answered all questions that we had. The apartment exceeded our expectations for comfort and appointments. The apartment has full washing and drying facilities that only one other apartment in Italy provided. The location and view over the islands and Hvar is spectacular from the terrace apartment. Two words - "simply stunning". The couple who own the apartment were really lovely and helpful. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. It was close to the beach (bit of a steep stair climb but essentially very close) and a 15 minute walk into town. Also close to a supermarket and there was free parking onsite. I'd definitely recommend this apartment to other travellers. My friend and I stayed in the two bedroom, ground floor one which also had a nice outdoor area. The owner/host Velko & Marinka could not do enough to be helpful, provide information & transport to ferries etc. The rooms & amenities are great, the location provides a 15 minute walk into the old town, which is not inconvenient, in fact a lovely walk along the harbour. A small supermarket is 250m away to buy all that is needed, swimming in the ocean 100m away. Balcony dinning & just sitting on the deck offers exceptional views. The hosts were exgremely friendly and helpful, picking us up from the bus station and on departure as we were already going to be near the bus station and didnt need a lift, the host brought our suitcases to the bus for us! Apartment is in a fantastic location, short walk from the beautiful beaches and a 15 minute walk back into the old town. Very relaxing, comfy bed and great balcony. Would definitely come back next time. Walking into the top floor apartment made us feel instantly comfortable and at home. The view walking out onto the terrace just took our breath away. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The walk back from the town center is a bit of a climb up the hill, but only a problem if you are old or handicapped. We managed it fine with a toddler in a stroller. Great Location, near the sea and Hvar historic site, in a quiet area but walking distance to market, HVAR, and rocky beach, owner was very friendly and accomodating. We stayed on the ground floor with a beautiful terrace. The apartment also has a washing machine and full kitchen. If you have a car, be sure to tell the owner that you need to reserve parking. Really enjoyed our stay. Apartments were spotlessly clean and had enough utensils to self cater. Beautful entry - simply made you feel welcome. A pleasant stroll into town along an ocean front promenade. Walk back home is an uphill stroll but take your time and it is fine. Mini mart five minutes away. Ownerson site and very helpful. The owner very amenable transported us to apartment the only comment is that we stopped at a restaurant to ask directions and the owner of the restaurant very kindly phoned the apartment and the owner picked us up. This option was available but we had no way of knowing this. Other than this everything was excellent. Velko was incredibly helpful and took us back into the town when we left. (It was a pity that we did not know that he could have picked us up and saved a long trek with heavy bags to the property). The balcony was also relaxing with a lovely view. The proximity to a very nice beach was a big plus. Very clean, new and comfortable. Well equipped. Even had coffee maker. Owners picked us up at ferry and took us to meet ferry at 7 am. Very accommodating. Only negative for some....but not us.. would be the10 minute walk to town. Was lovely walk along water after slight hill. The owners of Marinka Viskovic are amazing - nothing was too much trouble and they organized a fantastic days boat hire and transfers to Dubrovnik in seconds. We loved the amazing view from our balcony and the apartment was delightful. Our hosts were kind, helpful, generous, relaxed people. The kitchen was adequately supplied with pots/pans so we could cook at the house. The beds were comfortable and the patio was a great and relaxing pleasure. This apartment worked out really well. It was about the perfect balance of having a view and being away from it all, but still being a close walk to the beach and town. The owners were very nice and responsible. Close to a nice pebble beach for swimming ,but down a steep hill. That we could not stay longer. One bedroom is much nicer than the other, but still, the whole apartment was pretty sweet. If the other guests are inconsiderate, then a loud tv can keep you awake!!. The only negative and a very minor one is slow internet. Just the distance from the main part of town when hauling heavy bags. No downside. Would highly recommend. April is just a bit too quiet on Hvar. That and the rain. Wouldn`t recommend if you have walking difficulties, as like many of the apartments in this area they are situated on a hillside with many steps and steep roads. Transport would be required. Nothing. Wish we could have had sun on the terrace. Oil slick in the water due to many boats and not particularly blocked off for swimming. Older style suite. Couldn't use credit card for points. A little difficult to find even with a GPS. A toaster would have been nice for making breakfast. The shower is a hand held and the bathroom needs updating. The bed was very hard.we paid a little less in Sucuraj and had a better bathroom. The photos didn't show the true apartment. Not as close to the beach as we would've liked and a steep walk back. We stayed in the first floor apartment so there wasn't much of a view. Washing machine was new but leaked water. 20 minute walk to town centre. quite a hike up and down steps to shoreline. Apartment quite dated. Feels like staying at grandmas holiday house. A bit of a walk to and from town. Would not suit older people who can't walk distances or up and down steep hills.
