Hotel Adria is located in Gruz, 2.5 km away from Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Most rooms have a balcony with views of the Elafiti Islands and Lapad Bay. Free Wi-Fi and free parking are available. Hotel Adria has the most amazing view in Dubrovnik! Hotel rooms are the best we've stayed in - very modern, decent size, comfortable beds, nice clean modern bathrooms and large balcony with, again, an amazing view over the marina! The staff at the bar are very friendly, as are the front desk staff who are also very helpful. The breakfast buffet is great, best we've had so far.Hotel is located away from the hussle and bussle of the tourist-populated area, which is ideal for a relaxing holiday - .
all reviews » Big modern rooms, spacious bathroom. Everything is very clean. Very nice view over the port of Gruz. Our room had a big terrace and from what I could see most of the rooms have them. Free parking (in abundance), very easy to find, situated on the main road so if you are with a car very practical for trips to other towns along the coast (no need to enter the city). All in all, to me it seems like very good value for money. In most countries that I have been to you could find rooms like this only. The hotel is new and clean and the rooms with the see view are nice even if they are bit expensive (the double room was more than 80 euro per night in May). The covered parking is small but useful. There is a shuttle bus service that for 10 Kn per person brings you from the hotel to the old city. There is not the same service to come back in the hotel. If you are by car note that to park in the center for all the day is extremely expensive. The breakfast is quite rich. We liked the friendly team, the nice breakfast plenty of options and, mainly, the confortable room with balcony with spetacular view of the Guza Harbor and the city. Although the distance to the old town, the hotel offered transfer to there in very convenient price and return is with the public bus. Yhe hotel is very easy to be found if you are arriving by car to Dubrovnik. Great hotel with great view! We had a car, so I don't know how is to go downtown by bus (I saw one in front of the hotel). By car it is easy and takes 5 minutes. Good room, watch the most beautiful sunset from the terrace, good bathroom, good shower, restaurant open for lunch and dinner (good buffet). Despite the close distance to the main road the rooms are not noisy. I would recommend this hotel in particular to travelers with own transport who would like to spend a day or two days to visit Dubrovnik. The hotel was very easy to find....right on the main road and close to the Old Town too. Loved the awesome view of the inner harbour from the balcony of our room. Hotel bus shuttle from to the old city took 5 minutes and the cost is the same with a regular bus (almost 2 EUR). Underground parking is a big plus. -Staff was very friendly. We showed up late for breakfast one day and they let us eat at the buffet. Front-desk staff was very helpful. Maybe this hotel is not a perfect choice if you don't have a car or if you plan to spend all of your vacation in the old town of Dubrovnik since it is a little bit too far to walk and taxi is quite expensive but otherwise it is perfect. When we were there (May) there was no problem to find parking 30m from the old city walls for 5 kn/hr (0.7 E/hr) so even with a car it is not a problem. On Saturday night in the restaurant of the hotel there was the celebration of a wedding and from our room (5 floors below the restaurant) was possible to hear the loud music coming from the party. The hotel has new furniture but the TV is one of the smallest on the market!!. Everything is ok. Hotel is not a good choice for long-term staying if relaxation and beach activities are prefered. The extra bed was a sofa which turned into a bed. Although it was quite big my son complained because it was rather strong. A thin extra layer i.e. of a mattress would have been great. It is at the top of a very steep hill with several hundred stairs.There is no easy access to the old city or the port... cab or a very strenuous walk. Not a good choice for someone who wants use their hotel as a base to explore the city. bedrooms need a comfortable lounge chair, As well as a desk / dressing table and tea and coffee service in rooms. Though in the bar - services are adequate and friendly. Pool is being built at this moment and should be ready by July 2013. Location, is the great problem. If you travel by bus, you need to climb the stairs more than 500 up to the hotel. Or when you get to the hotel, they will have shuttle bus take you to get down , only have to spend € 2(or 15kn). But the traffic problem is also increase travel cost. We also used the normal bus line as we bought a Dubrovnik city pass and the transportation is free. The only Dubrovnik bus line that passes is taking about 30 minutes to the old city because the route is extremely devious in comparison to the hotel shuttle. A big minus is that the bus stops in the middle of the road, in a curve, with no crosswalk - fact that makes it extremely unsafe, especially during night. The wifi is not working in the breakfast area. -Closest bus station, buses run hourly -taxi to the old town Dubrevnik cost us about 75-80 kunas; bus 15 kunas; not a walking distance to the old town. There was nothing I didn't like about Hotel Adria. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone travelling to Dubrovnik. The hotel is far from the city center. It takes 20-25 minutes by walking or 90-100 Kuna (12 Euro) by taxi only one way. Buffet dinner not good. Half hour walk to town not for older people, but there is a bus service. Not the hotels fault but majority of Croats in the hospitality business haven`t grasped the value of a smile when dealing with travellers. Have visited this area many times and they remain unfortunately, quite a surly bunch, (with exceptions of course). Location was away from most sights and activities. This hotel is so isolated. There is no shop, bar, and restaurant around the hotel. It was noisy until around 1am because I stayed on -1 floor. The 4 million stairs...., but a cab cured that!. Though the hotel provides a shuttle to and from the Old City, they charge a fee for the service and it is rather inconvenient to continue to travel up and down the hill every time you want to reach the Old City. Restaurant closes to early (9pm) 40min walk to downtown, getting back includes 450 steps up the terrain! ORDER taxi!. Breakfast was so poor, not to much solutions. There was no iron in the room, they even do not offer it in you room for extra charges, they have one special ambient where you should go and take your clothes with yourself. A little more out of the way then we thought Cheap pillows Loud hallways. No minibar. So hard to find the entrance at arrival... Location is good in terns of view but the hotel is a bit outside of the city and not close to the beach. you are not in the citycenter, you need to use the shuttle service to get in the city (but may be it is better). Location is quite poor. Far away from the city, so cannot walk there. You can only take a bus to the hotel but buses run only once an hour in the evenings. If you want a good scenic view of the Dubrovnik area, then this place is highly recommended. Otherwise you are better off at a hotel in/closer to the city. building work right next door so bit dusty and a little noisy. The buffet meal the first night was cold. The second morning the FRESH fruit was very very brown and we asked for this to be removed as it looked so disgusting. Breakfast horrible powdered orange juice, in the land of fresh oranges. Do the management ever taste what they serve? Even concentrate juice is cheaper than milk. Internet worked just in the lobby and we had to go up 500 setos to get there. Hard to find, no signage for it. no wifi in the rooms no soap/shampoo/douch gel kit in the bathroom not value for money we booked it 130 euro and it ended to 150 euro( tax croatia).
