Rarely in life does reality exceed expectations but our stay here was restful sitting on the terrace deck reading or just watching the sea. The village of Cavtat had great restaurants, lots of places to swim, etc. what really made this place such a gem was the hosts - the first night we arrived exhausted after a very long trip from Western Canada - in the fridge was cold beer and our hostess produced crepes with homemade jam. It was also of great relief to be collected at the airport. This .

We only stayed one night at the end of our trip due to the convenience to the airport and I wish we had stayed for longer as it was a beautiful little place. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Cavtat itself is lovely and if you are after a relaxing holiday with a nice place to stay with boat trips to Dubrovnik/Montenegro etc but away from the busy city of D. Fantastic hosts. We were picked up from the airport and couldn't believe our luck when we saw the apartment. The view from the balcony is stunning and the apartment was spotless and very well equipped. Great value for money. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. It was my sister's birthday whilst we were there and the hosts even bought her a box of chocolates. It's the small touches like milk and juice in the fridge when you arrive that make it all the better. Amazing apartment, everything you could need was there plus great personal touches inc beer in the fridge! Stunning view on sun drenched balcony, perfect for a early evening tipple. The owners pick you up at the airport or bus station and transfer you to their accommodation. They are down to earth, educated on the area, and sooo... Accommodating. The apartment is clean and well taken care aparment with excellent free wi-fi. It is in a neighborhood in Cavtat within walking distance to town! Again, you will love the owners too. Sea view Isolation Cleanness Hospitality. Close to airport and old town centre. Excellent customer service. very friendly. The hosts were very freindly and the appartment is quite large and has all necessary facilities, including kitchen. The trip into the old city is straight down a hill - be sure to bring good shoes. It would take us 10 min going down and 20 min coming back ( to be honest we could have taken the shuttle they provide or a taxi but we felt it was good for our hearts!). We didn't mind it in the slightest but it was a bit of a walk from the beach/Cavtat centre but the owners provide a shuttle service twice a day which is at great times. To be honest, we quite enjoyed a slow saunter up the hill after dinner to burn off the amazing food in Cavtat's restaurants. Not an issue for us in the slightest, especially as the owners kindly offer the shuttle service. It's a bit of a walk up the hill but the view at the top makes it worth it and there is a hurtle service. I did not have a problem with it,, but you most walk about 1/2 a mile or so up a hill form town,. They will transport you in the evening at specific times, but we enjoyed the exercise. If you have mobility. "Didn't like" is a bit strong, but the stroll to the village is all downhill - where there are very good restaurants, and it is a good walk back up the hill! Owners do provide a shuttle service every evening, which helps. No real negatives although like most apartments in Cavtat it was a bit of an uphill walk back from the village centre.We didn't find this a problem but the owners do offer a free shuttle service back late afternoon and evening if required. There was nothing not to like at the Stella Maris. Wait, I take that back. We had to leave; didn't like that. Limited facilities in the area; need a vehicle. Nothing. Relative distance to town No enclosed shower. Just tub. nothing, perfect. Its a bit of a walk to the centre and beaches, but the owners offer a transfer. To have a car here is convenient though. Note that the studio doesn't have seaview from the appartment, nice terrace with grill though with seaview. steep hill. I assumed bedroom would look open to terrace and look to water. We thought that the appartmenet was too overated! It is a simple appartment for which we paid 115 euros when in the same area we saw lots of locals offering appartments starting from 10 euros per night. There is no breakfast offered (just milk and orange necktar in the fridge). Also the appartment is quite a walk uphill from Cavtat. We are travelling a lot and this was not good value for money.
